After Luana Alonso, a Paraguayan swimmer, German athlete Alica Schmidt is in the news for some controversial statements. She is dubbed as the world's most beautiful athlete and has over 5.6 million followers on Instagram. In 2017, the Australian magazine Busted Coverage gave her the title of "world's sexiest athlete". Besides being a sportsperson, Alica is also a successful model and a social media influencer.

Schmidt came to Paris as part of the German athletics team which finished in 7th place in the women’s 4x400m relay event and failed to qualify for the final. She found herself in the middle of a controversy after her teammate Luna Bulmahn's sprinter boyfriend, Jean-Paul Bredau, questioned her selection, saying that she was faster than her on paper. Luna also expressed displeasure on social media after which she was withdrawn from the squad.

But the biggest scandalous gossip she now finds herself embroiled in is the apparent statement that she "hooked up with everyone at the games." No, Alica never made such a statement.The page that posted the comment is a meme page and is known for posting funny comments.

The statement was reportedly originally made by Alpine ski racer Laurenne Ross in 2018, as per the publication Benchwarmers.Olympic villages house young, fit and good-looking athletes from across the world and physical intimacy is quite common.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, athletes responded to a question about the prevalence of sex in the Olympic village. To this, Laurenne said, “I hooked up with everyone.”

John Daly, a Skeleton athlete, added, “It happens! Incredibly good-looking [athletes], perfect bodies, tight Spandex. Of course, there’s gonna be some hooking up! Would you expect anything else!?”

Meanwhile, Alica and her teammates partied in Paris and she posted pictures of her night out on Instagram. Schmidt was a part of Team Germany’s end of Paris Olympics 2024 celebration that took place at the rugby ground Stade Jean-Bouin in Paris. The luxury gala introduced Germany's medal winners after which the athletes danced the night away.
