
A viral video doing the rounds on the internet shows 10-year-old Jaspreet in Delhi selling rolls from a street-side stall. He took over his father's stall when he died of brain tuberculosis less than a month ago.
Jaspreet gained the attention of numerous people on social media when a video of him selling chicken rolls went viral. The video, shared by a food vlogger, Sarabjeet Singhakamrsinghfoodhunter on Instagram, made its way to X andshowed his skills in preparing the rolls.
Industrialist Anand Mahindra has offered to support Jaspreet, and requested his contact information, stating that the Mahindra Foundation will look into how theycould help him with his education.
"Courage, thy name is Jaspreet. But his education shouldn't suffer. I believe he's in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. If anyone has access to his contact number please do share it. The Mahindra Foundation team will explore how we can support his education," Mahindra wrote on X.
Tajinder Bagga of BJP, and Jarnail Singh, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA from Delhi's Tilak Nagar, have both promised to support the child.
When the vlogger inquired about his family, Jaspreet said that he had recently lost his father to brain TB. Jaspreet has a 14-year-old elder sister. Both the siblings stay with their uncle in Delhi, while their mother has moved to Punjab.
Jaspreet, who learned to cook from his father, sells a variety of rolls at his stall, including chicken and kabab rolls, paneer, and chowmein (noodles).
When asked what keeps him going in the face of adversity, Jaspreet said, "I am the son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. I'll fight as long as I have the strength."
