CM Gupta said these projects include works worth Rs 365 crore by IFC, Rs 77 crore by the Tourism Department, Rs 33 crore by the Transport Department, Rs 2,800 crore by the PWD, Rs 550 crore by the Trade &amp; Taxes Department, Rs 1,537 crore by the Power Department, Rs 30 crore by the Fire Department, and Rs 247 crore by the MCD. The closing ceremony of the 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships 2026 took place at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi on Sunday. And in order to achieve this goal over 40 medical, paramedical, and administrative officers and employees working under the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) operating under the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the Health Department have been transferred.The transfers have been made keeping in view the Delhi government's promise under CM Rekha Gupta of providing better medical facilities to the residents of the city.The Chief Minister informed that 10 doctors, including HOO (Head of Office) Dr. Vinod Kumar Ranga, have been transferred in the CPA. Apart from this, 19 employees have been transferred to strengthen paramedical services. This includes pharmacists, junior medical lab technicians, lab attendants, drivers, etc.In order to increase efficiency in administrative works, 10 employees of Section Officer, Senior Assistant, and Junior Assistant levels have also been transferred. During the review of human resources, the status of officers and employees working in the CPA has also been assessed. Along with this, information on such employees has also been compiled who are on the pay scale of CPA but are working in other offices, so that more effective utilization of available resources can be ensured.CPA is an important center of the Delhi Government's health system, from where the work of procurement and supply of medicines, medical equipment, and other essential health materials is operated.In order to expedite departmental works, additional responsibilities of operating the Project Branch, Caretaking Branch, Store and Purchase Branch, Computer Cell, Mobile Health Scheme, PGMS, RTI, Child Rights, Health Mela, Hospital Coordination, and other important units has been given to the respective officers.Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure that the procurement and supply system of medicines and medical materials is fully strengthened and better and time-bound health services are available to the residents of Delhi.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta flags off 13 heat relief units to aid residents from heatwave

The Delhi government announced on Saturday that it has mandated an extensive expansion of the Metro rail network of the city, with plans afoot to add more than 97 kilometres of new lines and 65 stations along seven corridors under the Phase V(B) plan. In response, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the project, with an estimated cost of Rs 48,204.56 crore, is aimed at improving connectivity between the outskirts and emerging parts of the Capital with central Delhi. Officials indicated that four out of seven corridors have been formulated as priority projects and will be taken up with a speedy response. The government has set a target to complete these corridors by 2029. The CM also stated that the DMRC will divide the detailed project reports (DPRs) into priority and non-priority ones for effective and phased implementation. “This project will play a key role in ensuring balanced and inclusive urban development across Delhi,” she said. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the entire project has been completed and submitted to the Centre, where it is currently awaiting Cabinet approval. Earlier this week, the Delhi government cleared the proposal after a detailed meeting between the Chief Minister and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), officials said. Once approved, both the Centre and the Delhi government will need to sanction funding before construction can begin.
