<p>Taking to Instagram stories, Dulquer wrote, “What’s happening at Jantar Mantar is a reminder to pause, listen, and choose understanding. Education has always been about hope, opportunity, and the promise of a better future. Seeing young people face uncertainty is gut-wrenching. What breaks my heart even more is knowing some students feel they have no way forward, whilst others even choosing to end everything. And parents carrying that pain and debts trying to keep their hopes alive.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

As videos from the protest site continue to go viral, students remain at the protest site with a single demand: the resignation of the Education Minister. Several celebrities have taken part in the protests, including veteran star Shabana Azmi, Dhurandhar actress Ayesha Khan, and others.

The film industry continues to speak in favour of the protestors over the NEET paper leak as they demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. For over two weeks, a peaceful protest was underway at Jantar Mantar when environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk sat on a hunger strike. But things took a different turn on March 20, when protestors started marching towards Parliament. The situation escalated when police stopped them and allegedly beat young students with sticks and plastic rods. As videos from the protest site continue to go viral, students remain at the protest site with a single demand: the resignation of the Education Minister. Several celebrities have taken part in the protests, including veteran star Shabana Azmi, Dhurandhar actress Ayesha Khan, and others. Those who have not joined in person have also spoken out, some in support of the education system, while others have shared their political views on the sidelines of the protest. ‘Deeply distressed’: Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Imraan Khan - celebrities rally behind students Since July 20, celebrities across the film industry have expressed anger over the Delhi Police’s action against student protestors and have urged dialogue. The latest to join the chorus are actor Dulquer Salmaan, who called the situation “gut-wrenching,” and actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who urged for “transparent dialogue.” Also read: 'Driven and courageous': Salman Khan backs student protests, urges education system reforms without political interference

<h2>Ishaan Khatter</h2><p>Khatter shared an image from the protest that read as, “Loyalty to the government is not patriotism. Loyalty to the constitution is.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Ishaan Khatter's story

<p>Not just Bollywood, but several actors from south India, too have expressed concern over the violence that took place on Monday in what should have been a peaceful march. Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas took to Instagram and shared, "When the future generation of a nation speaks up, and their voices are met with repressive force, it is the future itself that is being stamped down. It is faith in democracy that is being drained away.<br><br>What did these students do wrong? Did they destroy property? Did they resort to violence? What exactly did they do to deserve this treatment?<br><br>To every person protesting for a just cause, peacefully, in any part of our country, I extend my wholehearted solidarity. The right to dissent is not a threat to democracy; in fact it is one of its foundations."</p>

A growing number of celebrities from the film fraternity have been expressing support and solidarity to the CJP-led protest against the NEET paper leak controversy. From Shabana Azmi to Huma Qureshi to Diljit to Ishaan Khatter- many have spoken in support of students on social media.

As the protest at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the NEET exam paper leak rages on, many prominent film celebrities have spoken out in support of the movement led by Cockroach Janta Party and condemned the hard police crackdown on demonstrators in the capital on Monday, July 20. A day after violent confrontation on the streets of Delhi, several actors and singers have backed the students and called for dialogue. Here are some of the celebrities who have extended support to the CJP-led protest and condemned police violence. Diljit Dosanjh Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh, who had earlier distanced himself from the protest, on Tuesday criticised the police action against students. "Whatever happened is sad. Students should not be treated like this," the singer posted on Instagram on Tuesday morning. Calling the "voice of the people" the "voice of God", Dosanjh urged authorities to "listen to the students' grievances". Pointing out that he was called "anti-national" for speaking out during the farmers' protest, the singer said he had to suffer a lot and "will again be called anti-national". However, under the legal framework of India, the right to demonstrate is not unfettered and must be exercised within specific constitutional bounds. The topic related to protest came to trend on the internet after a massive protest erupted at Jantar Mantar by an outfit, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which was born as a satirical platform on social media. The members of CJP formed a group and started their demonstration at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister. Since then, several students and their families have demanded greater accountability from the government, as at least 21 students have died by suicide after the paper leak. The re-test was conducted late last month. Is protesting a fundamental right in India? The Constitution of India does not explicitly mention a standalone "Right to Protest." Still, the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that it is an implicit Fundamental Right derived from Article 19: Article 19(1)(a) guarantees the Freedom of Speech and Expression, enabling citizens to publicly express dissent and communicate grievances. Can police detain protesters? Yes, Indian police can legally detain peaceful protesters under specific circumstances, even though the right to assemble peacefully is a fundamental right under Article 19(1)(b) of the Indian Constitution. Preventive Detention: Under criminal procedure codes, police officers can detain individuals if there is a credible apprehension that they might commit a cognisable offence or disrupt public peace. Unlawful Assembly: If a protest proceeds without valid permissions or continues after a dispersal order, participants can be detained for joining or continuing in an unlawful assembly. Procedural Guarantees: Any detained protester retains fundamental protections under Article 22, including the right to know the grounds of arrest, consult a legal practitioner, and be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours. Under what circumstances can prohibitory orders be imposed? Prohibitory orders restrict public assembly and are primarily issued under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) (or corresponding provisions under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 / BNSS). Circumstances for imposition include: A District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, or authorised Executive Magistrate can issue prohibitory orders when there is: An immediate, urgent threat of nuisance or apprehended danger and a risk to human life, health, or safety. Doctors from AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital, however, raised concerns about certain health indicators, including high uric acid levels, a reduced white blood cell count, and low haemoglobin.</p>

"We propose to get him shifted to Medanta. He will be treated there. All treatment details and reports prepared at Safdarjung will be supplied to Medanta. We will pass orders after lunch," the Bench said. The Court's proposal followed submissions by Wangchuk's counsel, Senior Advocate Akhil Sibal, who cited reports from doctors who had been treating him over several years, arguing that his life was not in immediate danger. Sibal contended that Wangchuk's condition didn't require hospitalisation or close medical supervision, noting that he had already been under observation while at the protest site. Doctors from AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital, however, raised concerns about certain health indicators, including high uric acid levels, a reduced white blood cell count, and low haemoglobin.

<h2>What we know about NEET paper leaks?</h2><p>The NEET UG paper was leaked after the examination was held in May this year. The re-test was conducted late last month. Since then, several students and their families have demanded greater accountability from teh government. At least 21 students have died by suicide after the paper leak. Scattered demands united under a banner of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which was born as a satirical platform on social media. Its creation was triggered by remarks made by Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant who called unemployed youths as “cockroaches” while hearing a case. He later said that his comments were taken out of context. However, CJP members formed a group and began their protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar demanding resignation of the Union Education Minister.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Also Read: <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/protesters-turned-unruly-delhi-police-says-over-118-personnel-injured-during-parliament-march-chaos-1784597306735">'Protesters turned unruly...': Delhi Police say over 118 personnel injured during Parliament march chaos, FIR registered</a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday (July 21) shared a post about education amid calls for his resignation.
