The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed all states and Union Territories to coordinate with the Delhi Police and take preventive measures to stop Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) supporters from mobilising towards the national capital. The move comes after Delhi Police denied permission for the party's proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. MHA flags concerns over previous protests The letter alleged that CJP and its supporting groups had previously failed to follow lawful directions during mobilisations, resulting in public order disruptions and damage to public and private property. It also cited intelligence inputs suggesting that the party's supporters might attempt to enter Delhi from different states and Union Territories despite the denial of permission. “To pre-empt any breach of public tranquillity and to safeguard critical infrastructure, all States and UTs are hereby directed to coordinate with the Delhi Police and operationalise immediate preventive measures under the broad statutory and operational parameters, within the framework of the law,” the letter stated. Responding to the allegations surrounding CJP founder Abhijit Dipke's education credentials and possible link to Pakistan, Bangladesh, or the US, Wangchuk said that he was not using “sophisticated research software”, he joined them based on his observations, his conversations with the protestors and his available information. "A six per cent foreign following is not a high-risk following. If it were 30 per cent foreign and 70 per cent Indian, red lights would have blinked for me. But six per cent outside and 94 per cent inside, combined with what was visible on the ground, made me realise there was no such thing. Then I got on calls with them, asked questions, and didn't feel at all that they were working for any foreign power," said Wangchuk. He said that he supports investigations into the university record of those who were leading protests if there are any doubts. But he does not believe that protestors were funded by anyone; they came of their own accord.

Sonam Wangchuk has rejected allegations of foreign links to the CJP protest movement, saying 94% of its social media followers are from India.

Big relief for thousands of students who took to the streets after the July 20 NEET paper leak protests. The Supreme Court has quashed all FIRs filed against protesters between July 20 and 25 across every state and union territory, except those with serious criminal antecedents. Using its special Article 142 powers, the CJI-led bench said it wanted to protect the "future prospects" of young protesters. Following the order, the Cockroach Janta Party called off its planned September 5 march in Delhi.

According to a News18 report, citing sources, the government had asked the School Education and Higher Education departments, police and district administrations to coordinate their efforts to prevent students from attending protests organised by the two political groups. The directive came at a time of heightened political activity in the state and amid government concerns over the participation of students and young people in demonstrations. The government’s decision to withdraw the order is also notable because Tamil Nadu had recently announced the withdrawal of cases against students involved in protests against the NEET examination. He later clarified his remark but the damage was done. As more and more people joined the page, the makers decided to bring it outside the world of internet. They picked up on the issue of NEET-UG paper leak and the death by suicide by at least 22 students to demand accountability from the Education Ministry. They started a protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar and announced that they would not leave till former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. The students also claimed that an alternative route earlier used by residents had been closed by the Forest Department, leaving them with limited access to the area. Even as authorities attempted to stop them, they marched inside the DM's office. They said they had staged a protest on July 3, following which soil was dumped on the road as a temporary measure.
Maharashtra: Class 10 students of a the zilla parishad (ZP) secondary school in Sonari village of Dharashiv's Paranda taluka in Maharashtra staged an indefinite sit-in directly outside the Chief Executive Officer's (CEO) administrative office. Frustrated by years of vacant secondary teacher posts, the students—joined by their parents—refused to leave, arguing that the lack of educators had left them completely unprepared for their upcoming board examinations.

Another viral video from Khetapur village in the Kuhi taluka of Nagpur rural, Maharashtra, who have publicly appealed for an official MSRTC (ST Mahamandal) bus service. Gen Alpha is emerging as a new force in India's protest landscape, with schoolchildren demanding better roads, schools and basic amenities. From Jharkhand's JPSC-JSSC protests to UP's Hamirpur students demanding a paved road, the wave follows the CJP-led student movement.

Days after Gen Z protest in India made waves forcing the country's education minister to resign over the paper leak in medical entrance examination, Gen Alpha, the generation next to the GenZs have also stepped up. In several states, Gen Alpha are protesting against the administration to demand better roads, schools and basic amenities. This wave of protest began when when young students under the leadership of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) started protesting at the heart of the country last month. The CJP, that originated on May 17 as a satirical social media page on Instagram after Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant called unemployed youths as “cockroaches” while hearing a case on May 15. On Jul 25, Pradhan did resign. There are other protests happening elsewhere in the country, mainly by the Gen Alphas. This protest prompted the CJP to launch a campaign titled 'School Thik Karo' on Independence Day to improve the condition of government schools in villages, founder Abhijeet Dipke said. WION takes a look at all the recent protest by Gen Alphas in the past week: Uttar Pradesh: A group of schoolchildren in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur marched to the Hamirpur District Magistrate’s office on Aug 11, demanding a proper paved road to their school. Carrying the Tricolour and raising slogans, the students marched along with their parents. But with the arrival of rain, the road once again turned into mud.

Many antisocial elements had become involved in it. The very next day, on the 25th, my father was pulled by a rowdy mob and was almost lynched near the stage at Jantar Mantar,” she stated, adding that her father was unconscious at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital for nearly four hours. “He remained unconscious at RML Hospital for about four hours. Around 10:00 PM, his colleagues brought him home, and his uniform was completely stained with blood. It was extremely painful for us to see him in that condition,” she said. The SI’s daughter also claimed that she was hurt after seeing social media posts allegedly portraying her father as a criminal. “When I opened social media, I saw that my father was being called a criminal,” she said. “The very next day, I came to know that the people who had attacked my father were approaching the Supreme Court to wash away their crimes and were filing complaints against him and all the police personnel.” She added, “I felt very hurt and decided that I should also seek justice for my father. I received support from other police families, and we went to the Supreme Court. We requested an advocate to present our case before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.” “The advocate assured us that we, too, have equal rights as citizens of this country and that we would also get justice,” she said. Families demand actions against ‘mischievous elements’ Another family member of an injured Delhi Police official alleged that the demonstration was affected by people who were not genuine students. “This was not a student protest; rather, there were mischievous elements who tried to sabotage and discredit the students’ protest and shatter the dignity of Parliament,” the family member said. The families demanded action against those responsible for violence while stating that genuine student concerns should be dealt with separately.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has threatened to resume nationwide protests after the Supreme Court allowed investigations into FIRs filed during the anti-exam paper leak agitation to continue. While the court directed authorities not to take coercive action against eligible student protesters and ordered the preservation of CCTV footage and electronic evidence, it did not order the withdrawal of existing cases.

CJP leaders allege that the interim order contradicts assurances given by the central government during negotiations that led to the suspension of protests. Founder Abhijeet Dipke accused authorities of targeting students, while party spokesperson Saurav Das warned of fresh nationwide demonstrations if the government's commitments are not honored. Meanwhile, several states have begun withdrawing cases against eligible student protesters.

'We are observing complete breach of agreement': CJP threatens to resume agitation

Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as India's education minister over examination paper leak scandals this weekend, after weeks of protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly intervened through video messages to assure the protesters, whose movement began as a Gen Z-led social media meme campaign spearheaded by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke. The movement got more fire and fuel from activist Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike. Pradhan's resignation this past weekend marked the first major exit of a Union minister during the 12-year rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre. The government's acceptance of the movement's demands has raised several questions. Here are some of them.

What does the Gen Z protest and Pradhan's resignation mean for India's ruling BJP?

Pradhan was a key minister and political operator for the BJP. In a major political development, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has officially assumed additional charge of the Ministry of Education, following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The Centre moved swiftly to ensure continuity in the Education Ministry after weeks of unprecedented nationwide student protests. Pralhad Joshi, who continues to hold the portfolios of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and New & Renewable Energy, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the responsibility and pledged to discharge his duties with humility, dedication, and honesty. The appointment follows a month-long agitation led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities. The protest officially ended after the third round of talks between the Centre and CJP, during which the government accepted the protesters' key demands, including the resignation of the Education Minister, withdrawal of FIRs against protesters, and consideration of a five-point charter on examination reforms.
