India's legendary batter Krishnamachari Srikkanth has backed the star duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to open for the national side in the upcoming T20 World Cup as he reckons they are best suited for the role.With the Indian team for the T20 World Cupset tobe announcedanytime, it will be interesting whether Virat-Rohit will open for India even asthere are question marksonthe selection of a few playersincludingRishabh Pant and Abhishek Sharma.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal was a strong contender in my team, but as of now, it’s going to be Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who will open the innings for me in the T20 World Cup. Because I will have to look at the balance, who’s going to come at No. 3, who’s going to bat at No. 4, what is the impact you want to create, you need to take all those things into account,” Shrikant said while speaking to Star Sports.
With little over a month to go for the start of the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies, the selection panel led by Ajit Agarkaris likelytoannounce the 15-man squad for the T20 World Cupin the next few days. The selection panel is keeping a close eye on a few players with a prospect of them travelling with the national side.
