PM Modi meets T20 World Cup-winning Indian Team in New Delhi - WATCH
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the T20 World Cup-winning Indian Team at his residence in New Delhi on Thursday morning (July 4). The Men in Blue landed in the capital city in the wee hours on Thursday to a heroic welcome by the fans at the airport. Rohit Sharma-led Team first went to ITC Maurya before leaving for the PM's residence to meet and have breakfast with him.

Shortly after PM Modi met the T20 WC-winning squad, the Indian Team departed for the airport to fly to Mumbai for the open bus victory parade scheduled for Monday evening from Marine Drive. The BCCI will felicitate the Indian Team at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai before the team gets onto the open bus for the parade.

The latest reports suggest that the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), alongside the local police, have made necessary arrangements for the victory parade, with thousands of fans expected to join it and celebrate the win withTeam India.
The Indian Team entourage, including the players, their families, the coaching staff and even the media personnel reached the country a few days late as theywere stranded in Barbados due to a hurricane. With the team due to travel on Sunday evening (June 30), everyone was stuck inside the team hotel for a couple of days before the BCCI arranged a special flight for all involved that landed on Monday morning.
Rohit, SKY shake a leg upon arrival
Upon landing in India, Captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Suryakumar Yadav were seen dancing to the ‘dhol’, as hundreds gathered at the airport and at the hotel to receive the World Cup-winning team. The videos of two dancing and celebrating India’s second world title broke the internet.
Others, including the Player of the Match in the finale, Virat Kohli, met his family at the ITC Hotel, while others were seen enjoying the moment among themselves.
India had failed to win a title across formats for 11 years, having last won it (2013 Champions Trophy) under MS Dhoni. This time in the Americas, the Rohit Sharma-led Team wrote history, as they remained unbeaten in their winning campaign.
India beat Pakistan, the USA, and Ireland in their Group games before taking down Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia in the Super 8s to reach the semis. In the final four, India faced the defending champions, England, beating them convincingly, booking their ticket in the final against the Proteas.
In a close tie in Barbados, the Men in Blue were victorious by seven runs, winning their second T20 World Cup.
