
Team India returned home on Thursday morning (July 4) in New Delhi after being stranded in Barbados following their T20 World Cup triumph due to Hurricane Beryl. Following their arrival at ITC Maurya Hotel in the national capital, before their meet-up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sanju Samson shared the first glimpse of a special 'champions' jersey. Samson, who was part of the victorious 15-member squad, shared the jersey's image on his official Instagram account.

Team India is likely to don this special jersey during the victory parade and the felicitation ceremony today. Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian players are set to meet the Prime Minister at the national capital before heading to Mumbai where the BCCI have arranged an open-top bus victory parade at the Marine Drive. A similar parade was also arranged for the MS Dhoni-led Indian team after they won the inaugural 2007 T20 WC in South Africa.

Talking about the photo shared bySamson, the Team India jersey has a second star on top of the BCCI logo, implying their second T20 World Cup triumph.
Talking about the T20 WC 2024 edition, held in West Indies and the USA, India beat South Africa by 7 runs in an epic final at the Kensington Oval, Barbados on June 29 to win the 20-nation event. With this, India also ended their 11-year-long ICC title drought.
