Floyd Mayweather has beaten Conor McGregor to win the "richest fight ever".
The end came in the tenth round, with the referee stepping in to stop the fight, and the punishment McGregor was getting.
The opening rounds had been surprisingly competitive but in the end, and once he found his range, Mayweather was just too good for his opponent.
The bout, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, had also been billed as the "fight of the millennium".
Mayweather is the former world welterweight boxing champion, McGregor is a mixed martial arts fighter who plies his trade in the UFC.
The two men boxed -- there was no MMA-type fighting -- in Las Vegas. They were to go at each other for the traditional 12 rounds.
McGregor, who has never taken part in a professional boxing contest, was always the underdog -- but he put up a brave fight.
The critics went so far as to say Mayweather's smile at the end -- he now has a 50-0 record -- was one of happiness, and relief.
Mayweather is expected to go home with $200 million, McGregor with about half of that.
A tidy sum considering McGregor was unemployed -- he used to be a plumber -- four years ago.
