Australia’s legendary batter Alyssa Healy is on her way out of ODI cricket, but like her stellar career, she did not fail to make her mark. Healy, 35, playing in her final ODI match on Sunday (Mar 1) at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, scored an eye-catching 158 runs to bow out on a high. Her magnificent innings propelled Australia to 409/7 in 50 overs while Beth Mooney also scored 106 off 84, giving India a mountain to chase in the final ODI of the three-match series.
Haley hails on a high
Playing her final match, all attention was on the Aussie batter as she stepped onto the field for one final time. Along with Phoebe Litchfield (14), she put together an opening stand of 32 runs before she was joined by Georgia Voll (62) as they stitched a stand of104 runs in 91 balls. However, it was Healy and Mooney who made the difference, as they put on a partnership of 145 runs in 92 balls. The vital partnership was enough to see the Aussies reach a total in excess of 400.
Healy’s composed innings consisted of 27 fours and 2 sixes and was striking at a rate of more than 160. Altogether, in 126 WODIs, she scored 3777 runs with a best of 170 runs and scored eight hundreds, including 19 fifties. She also captained Australia in 33 matches between 2023 and 2026 and was influential in the team’s recent rise.

What happened in final ODI?
Playing in the final ODI, Australia won by a massive 185 runs and pocketed the ODI series 3-0. This comes after the Women in Blue had won the T20I series, ending Australia's dominant home run. In reply to Australia’s 410-run target, India were bowled out for 224, thus giving a perfect end to Australia’s white-ball series against India.
Both Australia and India will now meet in only one Test starting on March 6 in Perth.
