At least seven people were killed on Monday in rain-related incidents in Pakistan`s northwest Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, police said. There were two different incidents. In the Chitral district, at least three persons were killed due to a landslide. One was in Danin village after huge boulders and debris fell from the hill on houses and killed people. The second was in Bunner district where four people were hit by a van which plunged into a deep ravine while taking a sharp turn. they died on the spot. The local people rushed to the site retrieved the bodies and shifted them to the nearby hospital. Rains and snowfall often cause landslides and flash floods in northern Pakistan where millions live in mountainous areas.
