In a statement released on Thursday evening, the Civil Aviation Ministry said, "The security clearance in r/o Celebi Airport Services India Pvt. Ltd, under the category Ground Handling Agency was approved by DG, BCAS vide letter no. 15/99/2022-Delhi-BCAS/E-219110 dated 21.11.2022."
"In the exercise of power conferred upon DG, BCAS, the security clearance in r/o Celebi Airport Services India Pvt. Ltd is hereby revoked with immediate effect in the interest of National Security. This issues with the approval of DG, BCAS," the statement further read.

In the recent months, there has been a growing proximity between Turkey and Pakistan in terms of strategic defence ties. The Turkish government along with supplying military hardware, has also conducted military training for Pakistani army.

Under Article 143 (1) of the Indian Constitution, the president can exercise their power to consult the Supreme Court.
According to the provision, &ldquo;If at any time it appears to the President that a question of law or fact has arisen, or is likely to arise, which is of such a nature and of such public importance that it is expedient to obtain the opinion of the Supreme Court upon it, he may refer the question to that Court for consideration and the Court may, after such hearing as it thinks fit, report to the President its opinion thereon.&rdquo;

The Supreme Court judgement, which was delivered by Justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan in the case concerning the Tamil Nadu government and the governor, ruled that governors must act on bills within three months. It added that the President must do the same once a bill is referred. Following the verdict, the president invoked Article 143 (1) to clarify what the apex court believes are constitutional overreaches by the court.
President Murmu highlighted that Articles 200 and 201, which relate to the assent process by governors and the president, do not state any time limit. &ldquo;The exercise of constitutional discretion by governor and the President under Articles 200 and 201 of the Constitution, respectively, are essentially governed by polycentric considerations, including federalism, uniformity of laws, integrity and security of the nation, doctrine of separation of powers,&rdquo; she said.

According to the Constitution, the governor can either grant assent ot return a bill, except money bills, for reconsideration by the assembly. If the bill is passed by the assembly again, the governor is bound to assent.
Article 201 does not fix any deadline for action when a bill is sent to the president for consideration. However, the Supreme Court ordered a three-month limit for the governor and the president to take action. According to the court, the governor must assent within a month if a bill is passed again by the state assembly.

All the three Jaish terrorists were killed in an encounter early Thursday morning, following reports of ultras being trapped in the area.
According to sources, these three are local Jaish terrorists. Among them, Asif Sheikh's name surfaced related to the Pahlgham terror attack. His house was demolished by security forces following the attack as he reportedly helped the terrorists with logistics support and was active since April 2022. The other two are Arim Nazir Wani and Yawar Ahmad Bhat, both of whom have been active since August 2024.&nbsp;
The security forces are investigating any links of the slain terrorists in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 civilians were killed, said Inspector General of Police VK Birdi.
The day when India and Pakistan agreed upon a ceasefire (May 10), New Delhi had warned Islamabad that any more terrorist activities on Indian soil would be considered an &ldquo;Act of War" and a befitting reply would be given.
Since the Pahalgam attack on April 22, security forces have been on high alert. A multi-team operation has been launched to nab all people involved in the massacre.

The pollution levels have also begun to climb.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) during Operation Sindoor 'jammed and bypassed' Pakistan's Chinese-made air defence systems as it launched a blitz of cross-border precision strikes targeting nine specific sites linked to terrorism across Pakistan, said the Government of India on Wednesday (May 14).

In its statement, the Information and Broadcasting (I&amp;B) said that the IAF's offensive &mdash; completed in just 23 minutes &mdash; saw nine major terror camps obliterated and 13 Pakistani military installations, including air bases in Karachi, Sargodha, Skardu and Chaklala, crippled by deep-strike cruise missiles, loitering munitions, and BrahMos-fired Sukhois. Over 100 terrorists were reportedly killed in India's strike.
"Indian Air Force bypassed and jammed Pakistan&rsquo;s Chinese-supplied air defence systems, completing the mission in just 23 minutes using Rafale jets, SCALP missiles, and HAMMER bombs, demonstrating India's technological edge," said the statement released on Wednesday. Jamming is the process of interfering with or confusing enemy communications and radar.

The revelation about India jamming Pakistan's air-defence system comes after the Cabinet Committee met to review the security dynamics on the western border following the May 10 understanding.
As per the I&amp;B ministry, Operation Sindoor also produced "concrete evidence of hostile technologies neutralised by Indian systems".
This, as per the statement, includes "pieces of PL-15 missiles (of Chinese origin); Turkish-origin UAVs, named "Yiha" or "YEEHAW"; Long-range rockets, quadcopters and commercial drones."
These, it said, were recovered and identified, "showing that despite Pakistan's attempts to exploit advanced foreign-supplied weaponry, India's indigenous air defence and electronic warfare networks remained superior."

Operation Sindoor: IAF 'bypassed and jammed' Chinese-supplied air defence systems during 23-minute strike

An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Nadir village of Tral, in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora. The security forces launched a search and rescue mission on Thursday morning following reports of terrorists being trapped in the area.
This is the second encounter in the last 48 hours. The Kashmiri Zone Police shared an update on their X (previously Twitter) handle. One terrorist was killed in the ongoing encounter, three more are believed to be hiding in the area.

According to sources, these three are local Jaish terrorists. Among them, Asif Sheikh's name surfaced concerning the Pahlgham terror attack. <h2>Three terrorists were killed on Tuesday</h2>
In Shopian's Keller area, three terrorists were killed in an encounter by the Indian armed forces. Two of them have been identified as operatives of Pakistan-linked terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.&nbsp;
Operation Keller was launched following intel from the Rashtriya Rifles unit. After swift escalation and heavy exchange of fire, security forces managed to neutralise three terrorists and apprehended guns and ammunition.&nbsp;

Another copycat move: Pakistan's Shehbaz Sharif copies PM Modi's Adampur visit, goes to Sialkot air base

As Russia celebrates Victory Day, marking 80years since the surrender of Nazi Germany in World War 2, Russian Missions in India are commemorating India's forgotten heroes, who supported the Soviet Red Army's gallant struggle against the Nazis. Indian troops fought in European, African, Asian theatres of WW2. As per Soviet archives, Indian and Soviet army men met on the battle fronts, in the rear or in fascist concentration camps. "The Order of the Red Star was presented to Subedar Narayan Rao Nikkam, village Nerala Hathi, Tehsil Kankanhalli, District Bangalore; and Havildar Gajendra Singh, of village Baraloo, Tehsil Shor, District Alrnora, who were serving in General Purpose Transport Companies of the Royal Indian Army Supply Corps," Soviet records from 1944 show.
Archives show that Indian troops supplying war supplies to Soviet forces at the Caucasus front travelled an arduous and dangerous route. "The 3,000 mile long road to the Caucasus, across burning desert and barren land, through 7,000 feet high mountain passes and low river beds passed through places where the temperatures varied from 130&deg;F(54 degrees celcius) to freezing temperatures. Among these forgotten heroes are two Indian soldiers- Subedar Narayan Rao Nikkam and Havildar Gajendra Singh- who were conferred the Soviet Order of the Red Star, an honour meant to recognize exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union. With more than two and a half million Indians recruited into the Army during the war years, India sent the largest volunteer army in the world to the battle fronts of the West and East. Indian troops fought in European, African, Asian theatres of WW2. As per Soviet archives, Indian and Soviet army men met on the battle fronts, in the rear or in fascist concentration camps. "The Order of the Red Star was presented to Subedar Narayan Rao Nikkam, village Nerala Hathi, Tehsil Kankanhalli, District Bangalore; and Havildar Gajendra Singh, of village Baraloo, Tehsil Shor, District Alrnora, who were serving in General Purpose Transport Companies of the Royal Indian Army Supply Corps," Soviet records from 1944 show. Archives show that Indian troops supplying war supplies to Soviet forces at the Caucasus front travelled an arduous and dangerous route. "The 3,000 mile long road to the Caucasus, across burning desert and barren land, through 7,000 feet high mountain passes and low river beds passed through places where the temperatures varied from 130°F(54 degrees celcius) to freezing temperatures. They formed the vital supply link between India and the Soviet Union. From Peshwar to Tabriz, on the Iran Soviet border, this road was “India’s outstretched hand to Russia, bringing it vast resources to within a week’s road journey of Russia’s outlier frontier.” Also Read: Operation Sindoor: Turkey reportedly sent military operatives to Pakistan, helped in drone strikes against India Speaking at the Victory Day event at the Russian House in Chennai, Consul General Valerii Khodzhaev mentioned that the occasion is not just about the Victory, but about the tragedy of the last world war which had a human cost of 78million lives. "Victory Day is not only a celebration, but also the time when we remember the great feats of the whole generation that passed through tremendous sufferings and demonstrated great heroism and glory. All in all, the Soviet Red Army succeeded in grinding 607 out of 780 Nazi divisions(about 80%), thus playing a decisive role in defeating fascism in its den." The immortal Battle of Moscow, Leningrad blockade, Siege of Sevastopol, Stalingrad and Kursk battles, Battle of Berlin became the manifestations and synonyms of infinite perseverance, immense courage and sacrifice of the soldiers and people of Russia and the USSR. That war left a raw wound in our hearts and souls and there was virtually no family in the former USSR that did not lose its members or close ones. 27million Soviet people, including civilians and military personnel died in that global conflict. The root cause of that global conflict was the supremacist ideology formulated and implemented by the German Nazi leaders who concluded that the German nation was above others, entitled to rule the world, Khodzhaev recalled. Further, he said that Western elites have been consciously wiping off or twisting memory of the outcome of World War 2 and the great feat of the Soviet people. Once again, we see the glorification of Nazism and racism, cancelling Russian culture, language, education, and even people, in a pattern reminiscent from colonial times, he added. Khodzhaev also drew attention to the connection between the World War 2 Victory and the emergence of the multipolar world order with new centers of power and influence, including rising India and rebounding Russia, both standing for a more equal and just interstate relations.
