As many as three died and eight injured after 13-coach Vasco Da Gama-Patna Express derailed at Banda in Uttar Pradesh early Friday.

Indian Railways PROAnil Saxena said that they have set up helpline numbers and added that rescue and relief operations are underway.

"The injured have been rushed to the hospital and officials have left for the spot. Relief operations are underway," said North Central Railway PRO Amit Malviya said.

Soon after the accident, a medical train reached the spot and by 5:20 am, an accident relief train was dispatched to the spot, he added.
