Pradyuman murder: Bus conductor Ashok Kumar wants to go back to old job

Ashok Kumar, the bus conductor originally accused of the murder of the seven-year-old Ryan International School student Pradyuman Thakur, has said he would like to go back to his old job.
"He said he would like to go back to his old job when he is released. 'I have not committed any crime why should I be afraid', he told me," the Times of India reported Kumar's uncle Om Prakash Chopra as saying.
Kumar was allowed to meet family for the first time on Friday.
Chopra added that Kumar had confessed to murdering Pradyuman because the police had allegedly tortured him.
"Ashok told me he was mercilessly tortured. For five days, he wasn't given any food to eat. Before the confession, his head was dipped in hot water and freezing cold water," the Times reported Chopra as saying.

Police have earlier denied the allegations of torture.
Pradyuman was found murdered in the toilet of the Ryan International School in Bhondsi, Gurgaon on September 8 .
The Gurgaon Police arrested Kumar on the day of the murder itself, and announced that he had murdered Pradyuman.
The investigation was later handed over to the CBI at the insistence of Pradyuman's father who kept saying that the Gurgaon Police were covering something up.
Sometime after taking over the investigation, the CBI announced that the Gurgaon Police had planted a knife on Ashok Kumar -- saying it was the murder weapon -- and that it was allegedly actually a class XI boy who had murdered Pradyuman.

The CBI further alleged that the class XI boy had murdered Pradyuman because he wanted to get an examination and a parent-teacher meeting postponed.
The Times of India also reported Chopra as saying Kumar was very concerned about what his fellow villagers were saying about him.
"He was asking if villagers believe him to be the culprit. I told him clearly everyone knew he had been framed," the Times reported Chopra as saying.
