Karni Sena offers fresh bounty for killing gangster Lawrence Bishnoi: 'If any prisoner, or warrior...'

In India, Karni Sena, a right-wing organisation, has publicly announced a significant cash reward for any prisoner who manages to kill notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently held in Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Raj Shekhawat, the chief of the Rajasthan-based organisation, in a video shared on social media promised that "any prisoner, or warrior, lodged in Sabarmati jail who kills Lawrence Bishnoi" will be awarded $132,131 (₹1,11,11,111).
This follows an earlier Karni Sena announcement offering a ₹1,11,11,111 reward to any police official who kills Bishnoi in an encounter.

Video bounty
Shekhawat shared the new bounty in a video message circulating on social media whileresponding to criticism from a news channel. He clarified that the cash incentive remains available to police officers as previously stated, but has now been extended to inmates within the jail.

Speaking in Hindi, the Karni Sena chief said: "The reward of ₹1,11,11,111 that I announced will be given to the policeman who encounters Lawrence Bishnoi."
"Additionally, if any prisoner or warrior lodged in Sabarmati jail kills Lawrence Bishnoi, the same reward will be given to him by the Kshatriya Karni Sena," he added.
Why does Shiv Sena want Bishnoi dead?
Lawrence Bishnoi, a prominent figure in organised crime in India, is detained in Sabarmati jail on charges linked to cross-border drug smuggling and suspected involvement in other high-profile criminal activities.
Earlier this year, Bishnoi's gang claimed responsibility for the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, a key Karni Sena leader, who was fatally shot by unknown assailants in Jaipur on December 5, 2023.
In the video, uploaded on social media, the Kshatriya Karni Sena chief stated that Lawrence Bishnoi is also the "killer of our precious gemAmar Shaheed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi ji".
Bishnoi has also been linked to the murder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai, and threats against Bollywood actor Salman Khan, significantly raising his profile.
