Okay with rape? Kangana Ranaut pens a long note on 'criminal mindset' amid slap row

On Thursday (June 6) actress and newly elected MP Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) constable at Chandigarh airport. Since then, the shocking incident continued to dominate the headlines, with the updates and the reactions pouring in.

On Friday, an FIR was registered against CISF guard Kulwinder Kaur for slapping Ranaut. The case has been registered against her under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). No arrest has been made so far.

After the incident took place, Kulwinder was detained and later suspended from her post.

On Saturday, Kanganapenned a long note on X, addressing 'the root causes' behind heinous crimes and mindset of the criminals and their strong impulse to commit a crime violating all the rules.

The Queen actress wrote, ''Every rapist, murderer or thief always have a strong emotional, physical, psychological or financial reason to commit a crime, no crime ever happens without a reason, yet they are convicted and sentenced to jail.If you are aligned with the criminals strong emotional impulse to commit a crime violating all laws of the land. Remember if you are ok with breaking in to someone’s intimate zone, without their permission touching their bodies and assaulting them then deep down you are ok with rape or murder also because that’s also just penetration or stab only what big deal, you must look deeper in to your psychological criminal tendencies.''

The actress went on to suggest practicing yoga and meditation will help in controlling the your emotions.

Concluding her post, she wrote, ''I suggest please take up yoga and meditation or else life will become a bitter and burdensome experience, don’t carry so much grudge, hate and jealousy please , free yourself 🙂🙏.''

Reactions on Slap Incident

The incident has drawn polarising views from social media users,politicians, and A-listers like Vishal Dadlani, Vivek Agnihotri, Shabana Azmi,among others.

Sharing her views on the incident, Shiromani Akali Dal MP from Bathinda, Harsimrat Kaur Badal condemned Ranaut for 'saying stupid things'.

She went on to say that Ranautmust focus on her responsibilities instead of trying to please her 'high command.'

She said, "Kangana Ranaut should understand her responsibility instead of trying to please her High Command...Being an actress, she is followed by many people, when you say stupid things and make useless comments then there is a reaction.

"If someone says such words to your mother that you have said to other people's mothers, you too won't like it...Instead of looking at your mistake, you are calling them terrorists...Your party's policy is to spread poison... Instead of spreading poison, if you spread sweetness, you won't have to face such a situation."

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi took Kangana's side adding that she can't celebrate the slap.

In the post shared on X, Azmi wrote, "I have no love lost for Kangana Ranaut. But I can't find myself joining this chorus of celebrating 'the slap'. If security personnel start taking law into their hands, none of us can be safe."

In the Lok Sabha elections, Kangana Ranautemerged victorious with 537,002 votes, defeating Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh in Mandi constituency of the northern state of Himachal Pradesh.
