Israel on Friday said that it will back its "precious friend" India in its fight against terrorism by transfer of technology and crucial know-how.

"India is a precious friend. What friend do is that they help each other to defend each other. As long as India needs our help, assistance, sharing of technology, know-how to defend itself, we are here," a top Isreali government source told WION.

"No compromise with those who speak the language of power since they do not understand any other language," the source said.

The development comes against the backdrop of reports that India used Israeli developed SPICE 2000 bombs during its counter-terror operations in Balakot, Pakistan to eliminate Jaish-e-Mohammed camps.

SPICE stands for Smart, precise, Impact, cost-effective.

On India's ties with the Arab world, the sources said, "So far as diplomacy is concerned everyone has different interest."

"Friends can be friends and agree and disagree and can still be friends,'' the source said.

Ties between India and Israel have been growing in the past few years with a number of high-level visits between both countries.

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi visited Israel in July 2017, the first visit by an Indian PM to the country. It was followed by a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to India in January 2018.
