Budget 2019: How high was Piyush Goyal’s josh, asks Anand Mahindra

Anand Mahindra the chairman of the Mahindra Group, a Mumbai-based business conglomerate was the first to congratulate the finance minister for presenting the interim Budget 2019.

Referring to the popular tagline from the "Uri" movie starring Vicky Kaushal, Mahindra asked, "How high was Piyush Goyal’s Josh?’ the answer would not be in doubt..." 

"I was bracing for a populist ,profligate Budget driven by ‘election panic.’  I’m just grateful that the reliefs to the key middle class & farmer segments were delivered in a measured way without risking bankruptcy of the economy. This was a controlled, pump-priming exercise..."

The phrase was also used by Piyush Goyal in the Parliament during the presentation of the Budget.

"How's the josh" has also been previously used by several leaders including PM Modi and Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Chairman, Adani Group also hailed the interim Budget 2019. He tweeted, "India's middle class, small traders and farmers are the lifelines of its economic growth. By catering to these ambitions #Budget2019 infuses hopes for millions of dreams.
