Delhi Minister Atishi on Monday (June 24) said that her indefinite fast will continue until 28 lakh (2.8 million) Delhiites get water. Her remarks came as her indefinite hunger strike entered its fourth day.
"The Haryana government has been giving 100 MGD less water to Delhi for the last 3 weeks. And until 28 lakh Delhiites get water, my indefinite fast will continue," the Delhi Water Minister said.
She then stated that Haryana had reduced the water supply to the national capital in the last three weeks.
"Today is the fourth day of my indefinite fast. I am on a fast because there is a huge shortage of water in Delhi. Delhi does not have its own water. All the water comes from neighbouring states. For the last 3 weeks, Haryana has reduced the supply of water to Delhiites," she said.

'My sugar level is dropping,' says Atishi
The AAP leader further said that even though her sugar and blood pressure levels have dropped drastically, her "resolve to do this fast is strong".
"Yesterday, the doctor came and examined me. He said that my BP is getting low, my sugar is getting low, I am losing weight. He also said that the ketone level has increased a lot. The doctor advised that it is not good for the ketone level to increase so much. It can damage the body, it can harm health. But no matter how bad my health is, no matter how much pain my body is in, my resolve to do this fast is strong," she added.
The political drama around the water crisis in Delhi took a new turn on Friday (June 21) after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi sat on an indefinite hunger strike claiming that the neighbouring Haryana government was not releasing the national capital's share of water.
She along with AAP leader Sanjay Singh and other members sat on strike at Bhogal, near Jangpura in the Indian national capital.
The Delhi minister staged the demonstration to press on her demand seeking 100 million gallons of water per day from Haryana.
"I will start 'Pani Satyagraha' from today... I will start an indefinite fast at Bhogal, Jangpura from 12 o'clock until the people of Delhi get their rightful share of water from Haryana," Atishi said on Friday before starting the strike.
