Social media users mocked Delhi’s poor infrastructure after part of the roof at the city’s airport collapsed.
Visuals of water pouring into the facility drew regretful comparisons to Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport, which boasts the world’s tallest indoor fountain.

The video of water pouring down from the airport’s leaking roof triggered a flood of memes on social media.
Notably, the HSBC Rain Vortex at Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport is 40 metres high - equivalent to a seven-storey building, making it the tallest indoor fountain in the world.

Another one shared the video of waterfall at Delhi airport along with a photo of Singapore’s Rain Vortex and wrote, “Same same but different.”

“When Singapore Changi airport has a water fountain, everyone goes gaga over it. When Delhi airport has a fountain, everyone has issues with it,” wrote another user.
Roof collapses at Terminal-1 of Delhi airport amid heavy rains
One person died and six people were injured at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1 after a part of the forecourt’s canopy collapsed on Friday (June 28).
On Friday morning, all flights out of Terminal 1 of Delhi airport were suspended, leading to widespread disruption in travel plans. Notably, many areas in the national capital were submerged following the night of heavy rainfall.

The Delhi airport is one of the busiest in the world, which handled 72 million passengers in 2023, according to Airports Council International.
Terminals 1 and 2 handle domestic passengers, while Terminal 3 handles all international travellers.
