They are the heartbeat of our democracy and the true architects of our nation’s future. Let us listen, support, and empower them. I hope you understand the sheer hypocrisy of not speaking up for young people, and then trying to sell them tickets later. The sheer luxury of being a silent viewer to what an Indian crowd cares about, and then expecting an Indian crowd to be loud and vocal and care about you. Apna apna dekh lo, lekin mere liye pahunch jaana. Doesn’t work. The concert economy in India is built on young people gathering in support. I get that ‘you’re not political’ which is subtext for ‘I’m really comfortable’. I always look at those statements and think, do you buddy. But today humbly, I’d submit to you that this issue isn’t political or partisan anymore. It’s just about the youth now. And you can support them by platforming what they care about. Beyond that, you do you.”

It acknowledges that standing for truth may lead to persecution or even death (“the gallows and the noose”), but then asks a deeper question: What happens after that? Veteran actor Shabana Azmi took part in the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)’s Parliament march. While actively participating in the protest, she reportedly fell ill. Azmi had volunteered for the protest, which is against the NEET paper leak and demands the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. She has been raising her voice for days ever since Sonam Wangchuk sat on a hunger strike, but on Monday, she stepped out and chose to be part of the protest on the ground. While there has been no comment released by the actress yet, a video shared by the Instagram handle Tubelight shows the actress being escorted by a group of people inside the building. She reportedly felt dizzy while taking part in the protest on a humid day. Also read: 'Now come to us': CJP resumes protest after Parliament march violence, calls meeting with Nadda ‘waste of time’

The major step was taken a week after the case filed by the Twelve states, led by California, began. On Friday, the first hearing was held to decide whether a judge would temporarily pause the deal.
Every Rath Yatra, millions of devotees celebrate Lord Jagannatha's grand journey from Jagannath Temple, Puri, Odisha (a south-eastern state in India), to the Gundicha Temple. While the festival is known for its towering chariots and centuries-old rituals, it also brings renewed interest in the lesser-known chapters of Jagannath's history. One such forgotten story is that of Kankana Shikhari, a sacred refuge where the deities were believed to have been protected and worshipped during times of invasion, preserving one of Hinduism's most revered traditions through periods of crisis.

What is Kankana Shikhari?

Kankana Shikhari is remembered in Jagannath tradition as a sacred refuge where Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were temporarily shifted during periods when the Puri Jagannath Temple faced attacks or political unrest. Rather than allowing the deities to fall into the hands of invaders, temple servitors secretly moved them to safer locations so that daily rituals and worship could continue uninterrupted.

Kankana Shikhari is not just a place of worship, it is a symbol of faith, heritage, and the deep-rooted culture of Odisha. Over the centuries, this temple has been a spiritual anchor for the community, offering peace, blessings, and connection to the divine.

Although Kankana Shikhari is not as widely known as the Gundicha Temple or the main Jagannath Temple, it occupies an important place in Odisha's religious history. Kankana Shikhari is a lesser-known yet significant chapter in the history of Lord Jagannath. As Rath Yatra shines a spotlight on Lord Jagannath's rich traditions every year, let's delve in to know the sacred tradition that has been kept alive through generations.

Kankana Shikhari is a sacred islet and temple in Odisha, located near Nairi village on the banks of Chilika Lake. Significance and history behind Kankana Shikhari Reportedly, as per history, it states that between the 13th and 18th centuries, the Puri Srimandir (Temple) was attacked multiple times, prompting priests to relocate the sacred deities to ensure their safety. In 1731, during a devastating attack led by the Mughal Subedar Taqi Khan, the servitors secretly transferred the Chaturdha Murtis (the four deities) via boats to Kankana Shikhari.
New ghost, or we call the killer, is on a spree against to kill the soldiers. But who is this person? This has to be revealed as soon as possible. But the other thing the palace and its queen, Rhaenyra, continue to suffer is the weight of the crown, and it’s getting unbearable for her. The re-entry we were waiting for was Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), who is recovering from a stomach wound, and Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), who is still struggling in the aftermath of his elopement. The episode begins with Criston Cole and his forces attempting to stop the Riverlands army and the Winter Wolves, and they are successful to an extent. But what comes ahead for them is more shocking. Rhaenyra and Daemon are already not on good terms over how the gold has been spent, as the Queen refuses to give money to the soldiers. Now, with the soldiers unpaid, there is another threat; they are being murdered by someone. But who? It seems like Ormund Hightower (James Norton) has a lot to answer for.

Long conversation with a shocking climax

Titled Unbowed and Unbent, this episode focuses more on what’s happening around Rhaenyra, things that will eventually come for her or against her. Helaena’s (Phia Saban) pregnancy is shocking for Alicent (Olivia Cooke), who only wants this baby to die in her mother’s womb before things go out of control again. Rhaenyra, who has shown mercy in the past, may only order the killing of that child. Grand Maester Orwyle (Kurt Egyiawan) has secretly delivered the tea to terminate the pregnancy, but Helaena wants this child.

Also read: House of the Dragon season 3 episode 2 review: Emma D'Arcy, take a bow

To save herself and her daughter, Alicent makes a plan to run away from the palace, as the gold cloaks and the soldiers are secretly facing threats, and there aren’t many guards left for their safety. But they are caught by Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) as they were attempting to escape. The later conversation between Mysaria and Alicent will definitely hint that a shocking twist is about to happen, which may again be against the Queen only.

The 1-hour 3-minute episode is heavy on dialogue and the conspiracies happening in different parts. While some new faces and the twists and turns may confuse at times, overall, this episode builds the bar for the climax, which is now only two episodes away. It ends with Daemon watching the shocking sight of his gold cloaks being murdered, and Alicent and Helaena getting stuck in a secret passage between the walls of the palace.

If they remain trapped in that dark way, they will be considered to have eloped. While all this is happening, Aemond and Aegon are both weak; one has lost his whole kingdom, and the other has lost his power, his dragon. But as frustrating as Aegon kills the man and Aaemod fights with the group who have arrived in Harrnelall to find him gives the idea that they may be weak, but they will come off strong in the future.

This episode is heavy on words, which also makes the middle stretch feel a little boring. But it still demands attention for what it’s setting up, where things are building and where they’re heading. Aemond’s comeback is interesting, but Rhaenyra and Daemon’s new cold war is what’s really grabbing attention now, and this all happens when the threat is almost near them. And after the murder of the gold cloaks, that conflict could take a much more drastic turn. Meanwhile, Alicent and Helaena continue to pull your attention with whatever they’re doing in that room. Ormund is intimidating with big dreams (I think he will be murdered by Prince Daeron Targaryen), and Criston Cole still has to impress Alicent, but for now, he’s tired and stuck in between nowhere.

With a shocking climax, this episode demands a lot of patience and offers only a little entertainment. Here’s hoping for more thrills in the coming episode.

Episode five of House of the Dragon is out, and it's a slow burn. With Queen Rhaenyra continuing to struggle as a new Queen, a lot has already been happening around her, and that too, not in her favour.

When Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan tied the knot at 61 earlier this month, it didn't just dominate the news cycle—it ignited a massive national conversation about age, companionship, and the freedom to start over. While Indian pop culture has historically sold romance as a young person’s game that strictly ends at the wedding mandap, the real world is proving to be far more nuanced.

Coincidentally, catching this exact cultural wave, DocuBay dropped its highly anticipated new release yesterday, Love After 60 in India, a profound documentary following everyday urban seniors reclaiming their right to love. Beyond the cinematic fairy tales, a new wave of documentary filmmaking is pulling back the curtain on how modern India actually navigates partnership.

1. Love After 60 in India (DocuBay)

The Focus: Love and Companionship After 60

What happens when you're over 60 and living alone in India's fast-paced cities? For a generation experiencing longer lives but empty nests, the silence can be overwhelming. This heartwarming and defiant documentary follows urban seniors who are challenging rigid societal expectations. Shaking off the ageist taboo that romance belongs only to the young, they boldly step out in search of love, companionship, and the freedom to define relationships entirely on their own terms.

2. In Transit (Prime Video)

The Focus: The Trans and Third Gender Experience

Created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, and directed by Ayesha Sood, this ground-breaking four-part docuseries follows the lived realities of nine transgender individuals across India. The series sensitively navigates how gender identity intersects with class, tradition, and the deep human desire for genuine personal connection. It’s a vital, eye-opening look at what it means to seek love, acceptance, and a place in a society that is still learning to look past binary definitions.

3. Going Poly: Love Beyond Monogamy (DocuBay)

The Focus: Challenging Traditional Marriage Boundaries

Can you truly love more than one person at the same time? While traditional Indian society views monogamy as the absolute foundation of marriage, an emerging subculture is questioning those exact boundaries. Going Poly dives deep into the practice of polyamory within the Indian social construct, exploring the personal lives of individuals navigating multiple romantic relationships simultaneously. It asks the tough question: Is this alternative view of love a threat to traditional marriage, or simply the next step in relationship evolution?

4. Love Storiyaan (Prime Video)

The Focus: Real-Life Stories of Radical, Boundary-Breaking Love

Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, this six-part docuseries follows real couples across India who overcame immense cultural, religious, and societal barriers to be together. A standout chapter, Love Beyond Labels, focuses on a trans couple whose relationship beautifully redefines love beyond traditional gender binaries. The series is a tender, highly visual testament to the resilience of human connection and the lengths people will go to protect it.

5. Fifty Rupees Only (DocuBay)

The Focus: The Realities of the Indian Matchmaker and Engagement Taboos

Directed by Nagore Eceiza, this award-winning documentary pulls back the curtain on the harsh realities behind the glossy promises of Bollywood romance. The film dives into the strict tradition of the Sagai (the formal engagement ceremony)—examining how it operates less like a fairytale and more like a legally binding community contract. By following young people whose life partners are chosen by middlemen and family expectations, it serves as a stark look at how breaking an engagement doesn't just end a relationship, but invites the unforgiving wrath of an entire community.

From seniors boldly shattering ageist taboos to couples redefining the very concepts of gender and monogamy, these five essential documentaries break down the real, raw human need for connection on one's own terms.
