Pakistani singer Haniya Aslam is no more. Aslam, who was part of theZeb-Haniya duo, passed away on Sunday (Aug 11) after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 39.
The news of Haniya's death was confirmed by her cousin and music partner, Zebunissa Bangash (Zeb). As a tribute, the singer shared a series of photos of Hania on her Instagram handlewith the caption "Hanini."
Hania was a popular name in the Pakistani music industry. In 2007, the duo's famous band ''Zeb-Haniya'' was first all-woman band in Pakistan. Together, they have given hit songs such as "Tan Dole", "Dil Pagla", "Dosti", "Ahaan" and "Sah Na Sake" among others.
Apart from this song, Haniya and Zeb's several renditions on Coke Studio Pakistan were superhits. In her short-lived career, she has also lent her voice to Bollywood movies such as Highway and Madras Cafe.

After the news of her death broke, several Indian celebrities shared their condolences.
Indian lyricist-singer Swanand Kirkire shared a screenshot of his last conversation with Haniya, expressing how heartbroken he is upon hearing the news of herdeath.
In his Instagram pose, Kirkire revealed that he and Haniya were working on a project that will remain unfinished now.
Sharing the screengrab of his last chat with the late singer, the lyricist wrote, "My dearest Haniya Aslam @citrushaniya is no more. She suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away peacefully last night. We shared a special bond when we collaborated on @dewarists 2. 'kaho kya khayal hai' I'm sharing my last conversation with her, which took place just a few days ago (sic). We have an unfinished album that we were working on together." Addressing Haniya's cousin and band member Zebunnisa Bangash, Swanand added, "@zebbangash, sending you and your family a big hug. May God give you the strength to cope with this loss."
Concluding his note, the singer wrote, "Haniya, we will see you on the other side. Until then, your sweet voice and melodious guitar riffs will continue to play in our ears, reminding us of the terrible loss of losing you (heartbroken emoji)."
Commenting on his post, Zebunnisa wrote, "Love you Swanand and she loved you also, truly (sic)."
Expressing shock, filmmaker Kiran Rao commented on Kirkire's post, "I can't believe it. RIP, dearest Haniya (sic)." Ankur Tewari and Roshan Abbas also expressed their condolences.
