Balyan, who has over 4 lakh followers on Instagram and is known for his Haryanvi songs, YouTube videos and podcasts, succumbed to injuries sustained after being shot outside the gym.
In a shocking turn of events, Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyann was shot dead in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday evening. The incident took place in the Kotwali area when he was stepping out of the gym, and unidentified bike-borne assailants opened fire at him at close range. He sustained several bullet injuries.
After getting information about the incident, police rushed to the scene and took Balyann to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. He was reportedly shot by 3-4 unidentified men.

According to India Today, after the shocking incident, his family and local villagers have blocked the Delhi-Muzaffarnagar Road and are demanding action as soon as possible.
Angered family and relatives have placed Ankit's body on the road, stating that they will not step back until the culprits are arrested, and the last rites will only be performed after the killers are caught.
On the murder of Haryanvi artist Ankit's father, Satbir Singh, said, "We want the person who killed him, and we want nothing else. The protest will continue. He had nothing to do with anyone..."

Meanwhile, police are investigating the case and are looking into the murder of the singer, which has triggered panic in the area.
They are scanning CCTV footage around the crime scene to identify the attackers. However, there is no clarity yet on the motive behind the crime, and it could only be confirmed after a detailed probe into the matter.
SP Narendra Pratap Singh has said, "At around 7 PM, information was received that Ankit Baliyan, a native resident of Bantikhara, used to go to a gym on Nala Patti in Kotwali city every day. As he was leaving the gym, he was shot..." He added that multiple police teams have been formed to investigate the case and arrest the accused at the earliest.
Soon after the news of his death broke, Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav mourned the loss as he condemned the murder. He wrote in Hindi on X, “While reducing Uttar Pradesh’s law and order situation to zero, the way popular singer Ankit Balyan was brutally killed in Shamli, with 18 rounds fired at him, has created fear across the entire region. The report of his grieving mother mourning on the road with her son’s body in her lap is heartbreaking.
