The entire industry was shocked when the news of Govinda getting a gunshot wound in a weapon misfire broke. A day after the incident, the actor's daughter, Tina Ahuja, has given a health update.

On Oct 1, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg from his licensed revolver while he was checking the weapon.

Govinda is hospitalised in Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital. On Wednesday, the actor's daughter Tina shared that Govinda is now out of the ICU and has been shifted to a regular ward.

In a video shared on the Instagram handle of Viral Bhayani, Tina says, “Papa’s getting better, God has been kind. Aap sab log please unhe apne prayers me continuously rakhiye. Sab kuch theek hai abhi ICU se he has come back to the normal ward and everything is good and now he is healthy and happy. (Please keep him in your prayers continuously. Everything is fine now; he has been shifted from the ICU to the regular ward and everything is good. He is now healthy and happy.)''

Earlier in the day, Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, shared that the actor is doing fine and will be discharged in a day or two.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 am on Tuesday (Oct 1) when the actor was checking the weapon. As per the sources, the actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata when the accident happened. 

In a statement shared by the actor himself, he revealed that he is doing better as he thanked his fans, his parents and god for their blessings. 

"This is Govinda. With the blessings of my fans, my parents and God, I am doing better now. I suffered a bullet injury, but I am feeling fine now. They have removed the bullet. I thank my doctor, Dr Aggarwal, and all my fans who prayed for my well-being. Thank you very much," said Govinda in his first official statement post-injury.

The Mumbai Police is currently investigating the case of misfiring. According to reports, the police are having doubts about Govinda's version of the gunshot injury incident. Read the whole story here
