Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth file for divorce two years after separation: Report

Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwaryahave officially filed for divorce. The couple began legal proceedings for their divorce almost two years afterannouncing their separation in January 2022.
Dhanush and Aishwarya have filed divorce papers in a family court in Chennai. As per Indian Today, sources have confirmed that the former couple filed the petition under Section 13 B - divorce by mutual consent. Their divorce case will be heard soon.

On January 18, 2022, Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, famously known as Dhanush and Aishwarya announced their separation after 18 years of marriage.
The statement released by the couplesaid, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other...The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting...Today we stand at a place where our paths separate...Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better.”

Dhanush tied the knot with Aishwaryaa, the elder daughter of veteran actor Rajinikanth on November 18, 2004. They have two sons, Yatra and Linga.
After announcing their separation, many reports stated that the couple werelooking for reconciliation. However, there was no confirmation of this.
On the work front, Aishwaryaa made a directorial comeback with the film Lal Salaam, featuring Rajinikanth in a cameo. Meanwhile, Dhanush was last seen in Captain Miller. The next project that he's currently working on is a biopic of composer Ilaiyaraaja.
