
Newly elected MP and actress Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday.The actress has alleged that a female guard called Kulwinder Kaur slapped her while she was at the Chandigarh airport- on her way to New Delhi. According to a report in ABP news, the actress has demanded strict action against theperpetrator.
Kangana Ranaut won the Mandi constituency on a BJP ticket at the recently held Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The newly elected MP was on her way to Delhi for a partymeeting when the incident took place.
Earlier in the day, Kangana had shared photos onInstagram informing her followers that she was on her way to Delhi.
The CISF guard reportedly attacked Kangana over her earlier comments on the farmers' protest in 2021.

On her arrival in Delhi on Thursdayevening, media personnel thronged the actress but she refrained from commenting about the incident.
During the 2020-2021 farmer agitation against the three farm laws, Bollywood actor Kangana had allegedly misidentified a woman farmer from Punjab and called her Bilkis Bano, an octogenarian who made international headlines during the anti-CAA protestsin the Delhi neighbourhood of Shaheen Bagh.

She had reportedly shared a tweet alleging that the “Shaheen Bagh Dadi” also joined the farmers’ agitation over the new farm laws at various border points of the national capital. She retweeted the post with pictures of two elderly women, including Bilkis Bano, and wrote that the “same Dadi” who featured in Time Magazine was “available in 100 rupees”.

Hours after the incident, Kangana took to social media and reassured fans that she was safe. Recounting the incident in a video statement, Kangana revealed that the CISF guard hurled abuses and hit her on her face during the security check at the Chandigarh airport. Kangana also questionedhow should one handle thegrowing terrorismin Punjab as she concluded her statement in the video.

An inquiry committee comprising senior CISF officers has been set up to conduct a further investigation.
