Wicket0 Wicket - South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj dismissed Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant in the space of the three balls in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against India on Saturday (June 29). It was Maharaj's first and innings' second over after India won the toss and elected to bat first in Barbados.
Rohit started the over with two back-to-back boundaries before Maharaj bowled a dot ball. He then dismissed Rohit on the fourth ball. Pant joined Kohli on the crease but lasted only two balls. The southpaw was dismissed on the last one of the over. Have a look at wicket below:

Suryakumar Yadav was the next to get out in the fifth over as India finished the powerplay at 45/3. After SKY's wicket, Kohli and Axar stitcheda partnership of 72 runs in 54 balls. The partnership was broken when Axar got run out in the 14th over on the team score of 106.
Shivam Dube then joined Kohli on the crease and the duo added 57 runs off just 32 balls for the fifth wicket and took the team past 150 in 18th over. Kohli also completed his fifty during the partnership with a single off Anrich Nortje in 17th over.
For India, Virat Kohli top scored with 76 off 59 while Axar Patel, who was promoted to number five, playeda handy innings of 47 off 31 balls.
Kohli slowed down after Maharaj's twin wicket over but started taking the bowlers to cleaners in the last overs. He hit six fours and two sixes in his innings. Dube finished27 off 16 balls, providing much needed impetus for India in the last overs.
For South Africa, Maharaj was the pick of the bowlers with the figures of 2/23 in three overs. Apart from him Kagiso Rabada also took a wicket.
India eventually set South Africa a target of 177runs to win the 2024 T20 World Cup.
