IND vs SA, 1st T20I: WATCH | Suryakumar Yadav loses temper, gets in heated argument with SA batters
India beat SA in 1st T20I by 61 runs.
India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav nearly lost his temper during the first T20I against South Africa on Friday (Nov 9) and was involved in a heated altercation with opposition batters. SKY got into the argument after SA batter Marco Jansen complained about India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson stepping onto the pitch repeatedly to collect the ball.
The altercation happened before the third ball of the 15th over of the chase was being bowled by India spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Jansen wasn't happy with Samson coming onto the pitch while the latter wasn't happy Jansen keptcoming into the way of catching the ball.
The umpires also got involved in the argument and tried to calm the situation. Have a look at the video below:
As for the match, India went on to win the match by 61 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. Batting first, India posted 202/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Sanju Samson's second consecutive T20I ton.

Before the match against SA, Samson had also hit a ton during the third and last T20I against Bangladesh at home - he his only the fourth player in the history to hit back-to-back T20I centuries.
The Kerala batter also hit 10 sixes during his innings of 107 off 50 balls - the most for an Indian batter in a T20I innings.
Chasing a huge target, SA could never get going and kept losing wickets at regular interval. Protea wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen was the highest score for the home side with 25 off 22 balls.
The South Africans were particularly ineffective against the Indian spinners with Varun Chakravarthy and Bishnoi taking three wickets each while pacers Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh chipping in with two and one wicket, respectively.
After the ongoing series, India next play T20Is in January 2025 against England at home.
