A part of the submission alleges that "by continuously and unconditionally providing political support and military support to Israel while being fully aware of the specific crimes committed by Netanyahu, Gallant, and their subordinates, President Biden, Secretary Blinken, and Secretary Austin contributed intentionally to the commission of those crimes while at least knowing the intention of the group to commit the Israeli crimes, if not aiming of furthering such criminal activity&rdquo;.&nbsp;

In a statement, Sarah Leah Whitson, Dawn's executive director, said that "not only did Biden, Blinken and Secretary Austin ignore and justify the overwhelming evidence of Israel's grotesque and deliberate crimes, overruling their own staff recommendations to halt weapons transfers to Israel, they doubled down by providing Israel with unconditional military and political support to ensure it could carry out its atrocities".&nbsp;

Another passenger told the news agency CNN that smoke covered the aircraft just five to 10 minutes after it took off.&nbsp;
&ldquo;A few of us passengers started to question why or what was going on. People started screaming &lsquo;smoke, smoke, smoke,&rsquo;&rdquo; the passenger said. "We were in the air for about 20 minutes, and it seemed to take a while before we landed," they added.&nbsp;

A spokesperson of the Delta confirmed the incident saying, "The flight crew followed procedures to return to Atlanta when haze inside the aircraft was observed after departure. Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, and we apologise to our customers for the experience."

<h2>Not the first such incident</h2>
This was the second such incident in a week with a Delta flight at the centre. Just two days back, another Delta flight - which was en route to Australia - was forced to return to Los Angeles (LA) after sudden smoke filled the kitchen area of the aircraft.&nbsp;
A Delta spokesperson said after the incident that nothing was more important than the "safety of our customers and people".&nbsp;

Ukraine drafted a resolution entitled "Advancing a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine", which was supported by many European countries and received 93 votes in favour, 18 votes against, and 65 abstentions.&nbsp;

America's change of stance on the war, pushed aggressively by President Donald Trump, was evident at the UNGA as the United States and Russia voted against it. Meanwhile, India and China abstained.&nbsp;
In February 2023, the US supported a similar resolution, which received 141 votes in favour.&nbsp;

On the other hand, the US draft resolution "The path to peace", which didn't mention Russian aggression, was only passed after a majority of member states voted to add EU-led amendments, which led to the US abstaining on its own motion. It received 93 votes in favour, and 8 votes against. There were a total of 73 abstentions, including those from China, the US, and Ukraine.&nbsp;
However, the text in the original US resolution was passed hours later in the Security Council, making it the first to do so since the Russia-Ukraine war started on February 24, 2022.&nbsp;
Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa told the Assembly that the way Russian aggression is answered "will define the future of Ukraine&hellip;Europe and our common future".&nbsp;

<h2>US on Security Council breakthrough</h2>
Washington on Monday hailed the "landmark agreement" between the US and Russia at the UN Security Council after the adoption of a US resolution calling for "lasting peace" in the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.&nbsp;
There were attempts to add amendments supported by several Western European countries, referring to a &ldquo;full-scale invasion&rdquo; by Russia and Ukraine's territorial integrity &ndash; and proposals from Russia to acknowledge the "deeply rooted reasons" for the conflict and lasting peace in both Ukraine and Russia.
But the amendments were voted down and the resolution was passed without any changes by the 15-member Council (10 in favour, zero against and five abstentions).&nbsp;

Three of the camps, Jenin, Tulkarem and Nur Shams, "are now empty of residents", Defence Minister Israel Katz said in a statement.
He put the number of displaced Palestinians at 40,000, the same figure provided by the United Nations which said the offensive has so far killed at least 51 Palestinians including seven children, and three Israeli soldiers.
Katz said he had instructed troops "to prepare for a prolonged presence in the cleared camps for the coming year and to prevent the return of residents and the resurgence of terrorism".
Also on Sunday, Israel's military announced tank deployments in Jenin, where it was "expanding" operations.
This is the first time tanks have operated in the&nbsp;West&nbsp;Bank&nbsp;since the end of the second Palestinian intifada, or uprising, in 2005.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at a military ceremony on Sunday, said the deployment showed that "we are fighting terror with all means, everywhere".
Michael Horowitz, head of intelligence at security and risk management consultancy Le Beck International, told AFP there was "no real military logic to using tanks in the&nbsp;West&nbsp;Bank&nbsp;at this stage".
"Unless it is to send a message, and potentially to stay more permanently in areas that have been targeted by Israeli raids," he added.

"The occupation's army destroyed Palestinian shops and infrastructure," said Jenin resident Fayez al-Sayyed.

Netanyahu made a rare visit to troops in the territory on Friday and ordered the army to step up its operations in the&nbsp;West&nbsp;Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967.
