After reports said US planes were in the air ready to retaliate against Iran after it shot down a US drone, President Trump confirmed it in a tweet asserting that he stopped the strike ten minutes before even as the planes were "cocked and loaded to retaliate last night on three different sights."
"I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it," the US president said, adding,"not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world."
"Sanctions are biting and more added last night. Iran can never have nuclear weapons, not against the USA, and not against the world!" he said.
Trump blamed ex-president Obama for the "terrible deal" with Iran who he alleged, "gave them $150 billion plus $1.8 billion in cash". "Iran was in big trouble and he bailed them out. Gave them a free path to nuclear weapons, and soon instead of saying thank you, Iran yelled death to America."

Iran meanwhile said it had "indisputable" evidence that a US drone it had shot down had violated its airspace.
Deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi told Swiss ambassador, Markus Leitner, that "even some parts of the drone's wreckage have been retrieved from Iran"s territorial waters."
Foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had said on Thursday that Iran would go to the United Nations to prove that the drone had entered its airspace before being shot down.
Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh, the commander of the aerospace arm of the Revolutionary Guards said that Iran had given two warnings before downing the US reconnaissance drone over the Gulf of Oman.
"Twice we... sent warnings," Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh said, without specifying the means.
"Unfortunately, when they failed to reply... and the aircraft made no change to its trajectory... we were obliged to shoot it down."
