Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party the BJP as well as the Congress released their fifth lists of candidates ahead of the general elections. The list includes many notable figures, including some notable names from the Indian entertainment industry. In the ongoing war with Russia, Ukraine launched attacks on the annexed Crimean peninsula and claimed successful strikes on two Russian large landing ships, and various infrastructure facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
In other news, India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a telephone discussion with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and offered heartfelt condolences for the lives lost in the Moscow terror attack.
