Donald Trump was certain that he could replace his wife Melania Trump if she were to leave him over claims of unfaithfulness, testified his ex-attorney Michael Cohen.
Cohen took the stand during Trump's criminal trial in Manhattan on Monday (May 13).
Donald Trump faces 34 charges of falsifying business records related to the payment. He has pleaded not guilty and refuted Stormy Daniels' accusations of a sexual encounter between them.
During his testimony, Cohen was asked about Trump’s reaction when he found out Daniels’ claim about him less than a month before Election Day.
Cohen said, when we were discussing about the potential public disclosure by Daniels, he asked Trump about his martial situation, to which Trump replied he wouldn't be single for long.
"How long do you think I'm going to be on the market for?" Trump allegedly told Cohen.
"He wasn't thinking about Melania, this was all about the campaign," Cohen said during his testimony.
Trump seemed unbothered that Daniels' affair allegations could ruin his marriage.
Cohen further recalled Trump telling him, "Women will hate me. Guys, will think it's cool but this will ruin the campaign."

However, it is not clear whether Melania knew about the hush money payment, but according to Cohen, after he left Trump a voicemail stating that Daniels might sell her story to the Daily Mail, Melania had texted him, "Good morning Michael, can u pls call DT on his cell. Thanks."
Cohen said that Trump asked him to postpone payment to Daniels until after the 2016 election, reasoning that if Trump won, he would already be president, and if he lost, it wouldn't have consequences.
Cohen testified that he had no plans to stick to the agreement's funding deadline with Daniels.

However, considering the circumstances, Cohen chose to pay the $130,000 with the understanding Trump would reimburse him later.
Cohen further revealed it was Melania who proposed framing the Access Hollywood tape as mere "locker room talk." The hot-mic incident captured Trump telling radio host Billy Bush that, as a celebrity, he could grab women by their genitals.
Vivek Ramaswamy, former presidential candidate will join Donald Trump on Tuesday (May 14) in court.
Ramaswamy will spend the entire day with Trump as Trump's criminal trial continues, a spokesperson for Ramaswamy confirmed to Fox News Digital.
"The best proof that the Trump trial is a sham: if DJT had done the exact *opposite* of the alleged crime, they’d still be prosecuting him & have an even stronger case," Ramaswamy said in a statement.
