Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Tuesday (Apr 16) revealed via a social media post that he has sent letters to 32 countries urging them to impose sanctions on Iran's missile programme.
The minister has also urged the nations to proscribe Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation after the Middle Eastern country's first-ever direct attack on Israel.
In a post on social media platform X, Katz declared, "Alongside the military response to the firing of missiles and drones, I am leading a diplomatic attack against Iran."
He further revealed that he has sent letters to 32 countries and spoken with dozens of foreign ministers and leading figures around the world "demanding that sanctions be imposed on the Iranian missile project and that the Revolutionary Guards be declared a terrorist organisation, as a way to contain and weaken Iran."
"Iran must be stopped now - before it is too late," he stressed.

Watch |Iran attacks Israel: Iranians anxious as Israel weighs strike response
The Group of Seven major democracies (G7), according to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, are already working on a package of coordinated measures against Iran.
Israel, as per reports, has vowed that it would respond to the Iranian attack that took place on Sunday (Apr 14). The attack, which involved more than 300 missiles and drones, caused modest damage in Israel and wounded a 7-year-old girl.
However, as per Reuters, Iran's attack has disrupted travel, with at least a dozen airlines cancelling or re-routing flights. Europe's aviation regulator has also reaffirmed advice that airlines should use caution in Israeli and Iranian airspace.
The vow has further worried the global community that is calling for restraint. The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog on Monday voiced concern that Israel's retaliatory attacks could hit Iranian nuclear sites.
