New York, United States
A day after US Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump faced each other in what was their first and possibly last debate before the November 2024 presidential election, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he didn't think that "the debate hosts were fair to" Trump.
In a post on his social media platform X, Musk also acknowledged that Kamal Harris "exceeded people's expectations" with her debate performance.
Musk and Trump
Elon Musk in recent days has emerged as a vocal Trump supporter. The X owner in his latest post said, "While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris exceeded most people’s expectations tonight."
However, he said that despite Harris's debate performance, he believes that "when it comes to getting things done, not just saying nice-sounding words, I strongly believe that Trump will do a far better job."

"After all, if Kamala can do great things, why hasn’t she? Biden rarely shows up for work, so she’s basically in charge already. The question comes down to this: do you want current trends to continue for 4 more years or do you want change?," he questioned.
While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to @realDonaldTrump, @KamalaHarris exceeded most people’s expectations tonight.
That said, when it comes to getting things done, not just saying nice-sounding words, I strongly believe that Trump will do a far better job.

Earlier, Trump hinted at the possibility of offering SpaceX CEO Musk a prominent position in his administration if he secures a second term in the White House.
In an interview with Reuters last month, Trump said he was interested in bringing Musk into his team, either in a Cabinet role or as an advisor.
"I would tap Musk for such a position if he would do it," Trump told Reuters after a campaign event in York, Pennsylvania. Responding to Trump's offer on X, Musk had said, "I am willing to serve".

Trump cries foul
Musk's allegations against the ABC News debate hosts come after the Republican presidential candidate himself cried foul.
On Tuesday (Sep 10), after facing VP Harris in what was undeniably a historic debate, full of power-packed verbal punches, Trump alleged that the moderators of the ABC News debate were working against him.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump said this was his "best debate ever" since it was "THREE ON ONE".
"I thought that was my best Debate, EVER, especially since it was THREE ON ONE!"
