At least 66 people lost their lives across Nepal after deadly floods triggered by incessant rainfall hit the nation, leading to loss of life and property, reported news agency Reuters.
According to the reports received on Saturday (Sep 28) afternoon, 11 fatalities were reported in Kathmandu district, 16 in Lalitpur, five in Bhaktapur, six in Kavre, two in Sindhupalchok, five in Panchthar, two in Dhankuta, and one each in Sindhuli, Jhapa, and Dhading.
Meanwhile, dozens of people have reportedly been injured and many remain missing due to landslides.
The death toll could rise, reported Reuters citing local officials, adding that 69 people have been reportedly missing.

The local news reported that the rescuers had successfully saved 1,053 individuals trapped in floodwaters within the valley.
The floods have destroyed four concrete houses, while 1,244 homes have been submerged, Adhikari said.
Moreover, 44 districts in Nepal have been affected by floods, landslides, inundation, and erosion, the police said.

“Heavy rains are likely to continue until Sunday morning and the weather is likely to clear after that,” Binu Maharjan, a weather forecasting official in Kathmandu told news agency Reuters.
How is it affecting India's Bihar?
Ganga Rivers along with its tributaries are flowing above the danger level at several locations, further aggravated by heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of Nepal, leading to rising water levels in Bihar's rivers.
The Indian government has put all 38 districts in Bihar on alert.
