
As France announced gradual easing of lockdown restrictions from May 11, the country reported 367 new virus deaths.

French authorities said there were fewer intensive care cases even as the number of infected cases rose to 166,036 on Tuesday.
There are now over 23,500 deaths due to the virus in the country.
Amid the battle against the virus, Prime Minister Édouard Philippe said France would ease restrictions on the lockdown from May 11.
The country is set to allow markets to reopen fromMay 11, but not restaurants and bars.
The French premier said face masks will be mandatory in public transport with schools in the country to open gradually.
"We will have to learn to live with the virus," Philippe said.
The country has been on lockdown for the past six weeks even as authorities called for "progressive and controlled easing of the confinement".
