Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam denies any US-Iran talks, contradicting Donald Trump, as Iran dismisses claims of ongoing negotiations.
Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan on Wednesday (Mar 25) said that there have been no discussions between Washington and Tehran as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war. This comes after US President Donald Trump, a day earlier, said that talks were underway “right now” to end the war in West Asia, adding that Tehran wants a deal “so badly”. However, his claims were denied by the Iranian military spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaqari, who mocked the US president for having “negotiations with himself”.
“We have also heard such details through the media, but according to my information – and contrary to Trump’s claims – so far no negotiations, direct or indirect, have taken place between the two countries,” said ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam. He added that it was “natural that friendly countries are always engaged in consultations with both sides to end this illegitimate aggression.”
However, Associated Press reported, citing Pakistani officials, that the Trump administration has shared a 15-point ceasefire proposal with Tehran. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed willingness to host talks to end the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Iran denies talks with US
Iran has not confirmed the talks with the US yet, despite Trump claiming that Washington is speaking to a “top person” who is not the Supreme Leader.
“Has the level of your inner struggle reached the stage of you negotiating with yourself?” Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for the unified command of Iran’s armed forces, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said in the video. He added, “People like us can never get along with people like you.”

Zolfaqari also said US investments and pre-war energy prices would not return as long as Washington does not accept that regional stability is guaranteed by Iranian armed forces.
What did Trump claim?
Trump has claimed that the United States is “in negotiations” with Iran and has sent a 15-point peace proposal aimed at ending the war that has been going on for nearly a month. The US president said that the plan would include Iran agreeing to “not have a nuclear weapon”. He also claimed that Tehran has a “very big present” for Washington regarding oil and gas, as the strategic Strait of Hormuz remains closed.
