Woman plans ghost wedding with dead boyfriend after lover dies in horrific car crash

In a strange case, a woman has been planning a ghost marriage with her dead boyfriend who was killed in a horrific car crash.
The woman in Taiwan, whose last name is Yu, was able to save three people from the mangledwreckage after the car crash but she was not able to save herlover and now wishes to marry him to take care of his grieving mother.
In anunfortunate incident,on July 15, four cars piled up on a highway wheretwo people died and five others were injured.
Two siblings, who shared the surname Hong, were found trapped inside the vehicle in which they were travelling earlier. After the accident, the siblings were rushed to the hospital, however, they succumbed to their injuries.
One of those siblings' girlfriends, Yu, was also present in the car. Sheremembered how she saw her boyfriend, his sister, and a friend trapped in the car wreckage.

The woman had injured her leg, however, she tried her best to rescue them but failed. Yu was only able to save a friend from the back seat. She also rescued two passengers who were in another car in the accident.
As per the Taiwanese news network ETtoday, the woman saved three people, however, her biggest regret was not being able to save her boyfriend and his sister.
Now in love with her boyfriend, Yu has planneda ghost marriage with him and then take care of his elderly mother.
What are ghost marriages?
In China, ghost marriages are a 3,000-year-old custom held for deceased people. It is believed by many that if humans die without fulfilling their wishes like getting married, they will not get peace in the afterlife.
In line with thiscustom, the living person takes part in the ghost marriages along withthe photo of the deceased andhis/her clothes and other items are used to represent them. In the ceremony, traditional wedding customs are followed.
The story of Yu moved many people on social media platforms.

“This brave woman thinking of saving others in a crisis is remarkable,” said one user on Instagram.
“Her sense of responsibility and love for her boyfriend and his family is moving. Ghost marriage can be a form of spiritual comfort,” another added.
Two types of ghost marriages take place in China. In one of them, couples who died just before or after engagement, are married and buried together.
On the other, the matchmakers arrange the wedding of two people who did not know each other when they were alive.
