Independence Day 2024: India is all set to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on 15 August 2024. Indian citizens can watch the festivities live on various broadcasting platforms, including TV Channels and Social Media.
The festivities will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisting the national flag at the Red Fort, continuing with his speech expected to commence at 7:30 am. This year, it will be PM Modi's 11th consecutive address on the occasion of Independence Day.

The live stream will also be available on social media platform X (previously Twitter) on the handle of Press Information Bureau- @PIB_India, and also on the PMO Twitter handle.

Independence Day 2024: Theme
The theme for this year's Independence Day is 'Viksit Bharat', highlighting the government's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.
Viksit Bharat emphasises holistic development in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and technology, and elevates India's status by promoting economic growth, social progress, and sustainable development.
On the morning of 15 August, the Prime Minister addresses the nation, highlighting achievements, announcing future goals and policy, and honouring freedom fighters. The address is followed by a grand parade representing India's military strength, cultural diversity, and technological advancements.
All the important buildings and monuments are illuminated with lights, making the surroundings festive in the evening.
