Amanuscript written on papyrus during the 4th or 5th century and restored at a library in Hamburg, Germany is probably theearliest known record of Jesus Christ's childhood.
Before this discovery, it was believed the text was an everyday document, a list or a letter. It had a total of 13 lines in Greek. The experts who studied the manuscript spotted the word Jesus in the document first, and then deciphered other parts of the text.
The two experts who interpreted the manuscript believe it is the earliest copy of the Infancy Gospel of Thomas.
“Our findings on this late antique Greek copy of the work confirm the current assessment that the Infancy Gospel according to Thomas was originally written in Greek,” Gabriel Nocchi Macedo, an expert who helped interpret the text, saidin a press release.

The IGT contains stories of Jesus Christ's childhood, however, this did not make it to the Bible as some Christian writers were unsure of its authenticity.
According to researchers, this was first written during the 2nd century. The manuscript that has been restored talks about the "vivification of the sparrows", described as Jesus' second miracle.
Based on the conclusion drawn by experts, the text states that Jesus was playing alongside a stream and he made sparrows out of clay.
When reprimanded by his father, young Jesus clapped his hands and brought the sparrows to life.
