Amazon is killing it with its deliveries these days, sending customers all kinds of reptiles in its packages along with the actual item ordered. After a woman in India received a package with a cobra snake inside it, a Colombian woman got her air fryer with a lizard sitting next to it. Sofia Serrano made the hair-raising discovery after she openedthe package expecting to find the air fryer she had ordered. The Spanish Rock Lizard was also sitting inside the box.
She shared a photo of the lizard on X on July 18, and the post has since amassed millions of views. Amazon Help responded to her post and wrote, “Hello! We’re sorry for the inconvenience."
Users were stumped to see the lizard, wondering where it came from.
One user wrote, “Where did that come from???? From Singapore?? There are some like that and it is very common to see them on the street.”
Some found humour in the incident with one of the users writing, "What a great deal, including an exotic pet!"
One of the users felt bad for the lizard and wrote, "I'll die if this happens to me. On the other hand, how sad the little animal is, it must be all scared, hungry and thirsty. what would the abuse be like on that trip?
This is not the first time that an animal has been shipped inside an Amazon box. Last month, a woman in the Indian city of Bengaluru was shocked to see a cobra inside her Amazon package. She had ordered an Xbox controller and upon opening the box, found a cobra snake stuck to the packaging tape. She shared a video of the package on social media, that showed the Spectacled Cobra, a highly venomous snake species indigenous to Karnataka, slithering inside the box.
Responding to her post, Amazon wrote, "We're sorry to know about the inconvenience you've had with the Amazon order. We'd like to have this checked. Please share the required details here, and our team will get back to you soon with an update.''
While she received a refund, the incident raised questions about Amazon's safety measures. "This is a safety breach caused solely by Amazon's negligence and their poor transportation/warehousing hygiene and supervision," she alleged.
