<p>Virat Kohli on Wednesday (February 23) shared a heartfelt note for former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh to thank him for his great gesture. Yuvraj had sent Kohli a special shoe and a handwritten letter to laud him for his exceptional captaincy tenure as the skipper of the Indian team across all formats of the game. After giving up T20I and ODI captaincy last year, Kohli had stepped down as India's Test captain in January this year.</p>

<p>Kohli thanked Yuvraj for his wonderful gesture and shared a heartfelt post for his former India teammate with a picture of the shoe sent by him. Kohli and Yuvraj share a great bond with each other and were part of some of the most memorable victories for the Indian cricket team together. While Yuvraj retired from all forms of cricket in 2019, Kohli continues to be an integral member of the Indian team across all formats.</p>

<p>Thanking Yuvraj for his gesture, Kohli called Yuvraj's life and his battle from cancer an inspiration for all. The batting maestro also recalled his early days in international cricket and thanked Yuvraj for his support.&nbsp;</p>

One of the greatest batters of all time, Kohli has already established his credentials as one of the legends of the game and has come a long way in his career since making his international debut for India in 2008.</p>

<p>Yuvraj was part of the Indian dressing room and was already a big name in world cricket when Kohli played his first game for the Men in Blue. Tributes have been pouring in from all corners for the music great who gave the Indian film industry some of its most popular songs in the 80s and the 90s.</p>

<p>Lahiri was admitted to the hospital after suffering from a chest infection and multiple other health issues. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital for almost a month before being discharged on Monday. However, his health deteriorated once again and his family called for a doctor at home.</p>

<p>He was subsequently admitted to the CritiCare Hospital once again. He passed away due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) on Tuesday night. The singer and music composer had contracted COVID-19 last year but had recovered from the infection.</p>

Kohli stepped down as the Test captain of the Indian team on Saturday (January 15) following the side's 2-1 defeat in the recently-concluded three-match Test series against South Africa.</p>

<p>Kohli-led India came close to winning their maiden Test series in South Africa when they got the better of the Proteas comfortably in the series-opener in Centurion. However, they lost the next two matches in a row to concede the series 2-1 and were denied a historic series win on South Africa soil.</p>

<p>A day after India's seven-wicket defeat in the third Test in Cape Town, Kohli dropped the captaincy bomb on social media and announced he will no more be leading the Indian team in the longest format. Following Kohli's resignation, the legendary Gavaskar suggested Pant could be an ideal candidate to take over as the new captain in Tests as he is a regular across all formats and has been consistent in the whites for Team India.</p>

<p>India's Test skipper Virat Kohli recalled a hilarious incident as he sent his wishes to his former teammate Yuvraj Singh on his 40th birthday. Wishes have been flowing in from all corners as the former India all-rounder celebrates his birthday. Kohli took to Instagram and shared a special video on his story to wish Yuvraj while also sharing an 'outrageous' episode.</p>

<p>In the video posted by him, Kohli recalled how Yuvraj made him feel comfortable and welcomed him nicely when he first joined the Indian team. Kohli revealed the duo used to eat out and shop together and had similar likings before sharing an incident that will leave fans in splits.</p>

<p>Kohli recalled how Yuvraj once asked Kohli at around 3 in the morning to ride bicycles from Dambulla to Colombo in Sri Lanka. The Indian skipper said it was outrageous as the Indian team had to play a game after two days.</p>

<p>“I had come in from the Under-19 World Cup; he welcomed me very nicely, made me comfortable, started joking around with me, and we liked similar kind of food. <p>Former India captain MS Dhoni recently caught up with his old mate Yuvraj Singh sending cricket fans into a frenzy on social media. Dhoni and Yuvraj spent a number of years together in the Indian dressing room and were the vital cogs in the team's middle-order. The duo played an instrumental role in helping India attain several memorable wins across formats.</p>

<p>Dhoni and Yuvraj are regarded as two of the best finishers of the current generation and were the heroes of India's famous&nbsp; 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup triumphs. Yuvraj took to Instagram on Monday (November 01) to reveal he will be returning to the pitch on public demand next year. The former India all-rounder's post has led to speculations among fans whether the legendary cricketer is eyeing a comeback to professional cricket once again, two years after his retirement.</p>

<p>Yuvraj had announced retirement from all forms of cricket in 2019 and last played for the Indian team in February 2019. Regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time, Yuvraj had plied his trade in a couple of cricket leagues overseas post his retirement.</p>

<p>MS Dhoni-led India had defeated Pakistan by five runs in a thrilling final to lift the T20 World Cup trophy during the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007. It was a thrilling final played between the two arch-rivals which went down the wire with the result getting decided in the final over of the game.</p>

<p>Joginder Sharma was handed over the ball to bowl the final over for India in a tense situation with Misbah-ul-Haq going strong on one end. Misbah was nearing his half-century and was looking set to take Pakistan over the line before he was dismissed by Joginder in the final over. With six runs needed off the final four balls of the 20th over, Misbah tried scooping a delivery and was caught by S Sreesanth.</p>

<p>Recalling the thrilling finish to the epic final of the 2007 T20 World Cup, India's current limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who was part of the game, said Yuvraj Singh almost thought that Sreesanth would drop the decisive catch. Rohit revealed he was fielding at cover during the final over and saw Yuvraj turn around as Misbah played the shot.</p>

The FIR was registered eight months after the lawyer had filed a complaint against him in February over his casteist comment.&nbsp;Police have registered the FIR under Sections 153, 153A, 295, 505 of IPC, and sections 3 (1) (r) and 3 (1) (s) of SC/ST Act.</p>
