Had there been DRS when Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh was bowling, Kumble would have gone to 1000 wickets and Harbhajan would have got around 700 wickets because DRS plays a massive role especially in India where there are lot of inside edges, or bat pads and stuff," Gambhir said on the 'Runorder' show on ESPNCricinfo when asked if he agrees with Yuvraj's tweet.</p>

<p>"From that point of view, I do agree with Yuvraj Singh, but from the point of view that had they played on these kinds of pitches, probably not. Because see, wickets have been the same for everyone. Ashwin doesn’t ask for these kinds of wickets, it’s the team management that asks for it. And when you prepare such wickets, Ashwin is under more pressure to deliver," Gambhir added.</p>

<p>Kolkata Knight Riders continued their winning run as they defeated Kings XI Punjab by 2 runs in what was a proper humdinger in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. With the win, KKR move to the third spot in the IPL 2020 points table whereas KXIP continues their stay at the bottom of the standings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>KKR used similar tactics which they applied against Chennai Super Kings to win the match similarly. Dinesh Karthik smartly used Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine to choke the KXIP batters in the second half of the chase after openers Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul stitched a 115-run stand.</p>

<p>While KXIP looked comfortable in their chase, KKR bowled brilliantly after the 10th over to get quick dismissals of Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran and Simran Singh to pile pressure on KXIP. KL Rahul, who was looking in fine touch lost his wicket in the 19th over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Glenn Maxwell smashed a couple of boundaries in the final over off Sunil Narine, KXIP fell short of two runs to register their fifth defeat of IPL 2020 in six matches.&nbsp;</p>

<p>KXIP will take on RCB in Sharjah on Thursday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah in a bid to come out of retirement and start playing for Punjab in domestic T20 cricket.</p>

<p>Yuvraj, who announced his retirement in 2019, before going on to play in overseas T10 tournaments, will need to have a clearance from the BCCI if he wants to resume his cricketing career in the Indian domestic circuit. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The two-time World Cup winner said that he enjoyed spending time with young players while talking to them about various aspects of the game and added he would love to help them take that extra step forward while helping the team with his presence on the field.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I enjoyed spending time with these youngsters, and talking to them about various aspects of the game, I realised that they were able to pick up various things that I was telling them," Yuvraj, 38, told Cricbuzz on Wednesday afternoon, as he confirmed his comeback plans. "I had to get into the nets to show them a few other elements, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well I was hitting the ball even though I hadn't held a bat for a really long time."</p>

<p>Bali is of the view that Yuvraj’s mentorship could help the youngsters massively and the southpaw was looking in great touch so why not come back and play some more domestic cricket?</p>

<p>"Initially, I wasn't sure that I wanted to take up the offer," Yuvraj admits. "I was done with domestic cricket, though I did want to continue to play in other domestic franchise-based leagues worldwide if I got permission from the BCCI. But I also couldn't ignore Mr Bali's request. I gave it a lot of thought, for nearly three or four weeks, and it was almost as if I didn't even have to make a conscious decision in the end.</p>

"Obviously, Shubman is already playing for India, and I feel there's plenty of potential in the other three boys. If I can contribute in any way to their development and to the development of Punjab cricket, then that will be wonderful. After all, playing for Punjab is what paved the way for my international career."</p>

<p>Yuvraj, in his letter of Ganguly and Shah, made it clear that he would not pursue his options of playing in overseas leagues once he is given the green signal to return to Indian domestic cricket. Yuvraj had earlier played for Toronto Nationals in Global T20 Canada and Maratha Arabians in Abu Dhabi T10 League.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Indian and Chinese troops had clashed in the Galwan Valley on June 15/16 in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. The clash occurred after weeks of stand-off between the two armies in the upper Himalayas.</p>

<p>India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said China tried to "unilaterally change the status quo and departed from the consensus to respect the Line of Actual Control in the Galwan Valley".</p>

<p>"Both sides suffered casualties that could have been avoided had an agreement at higher level been scrupulously followed by the Chinese side," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.</p>

<p>"Given its responsible approach to border management, India is very clear that all its activities are always within the Indian side of the LAC. We expect the same of the Chinese side," it added.</p>

<p>Many other icons in the Indian cricket like Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma and Yuvraj Singh also tweeted to pay tribute to the martyrs.</p>

A complaint was lodged against Yuvraj regarding the matter by a lawyer from Haryana – Rajat Kalsan – as he stated that remarks made by the former India all-rounder were casteist against Dalits, as per reports. <p>Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan, who had retired from international cricket, were allowed to be part of the T10 League in the UAE.</p>

<p>Last month, Irfan Pathan became the first Indian player to be included in the Caribbean Premier League draft though he remains an active first-class player and did not take prior permission from the BCCI.</p>

<p>The BCCI had also withdrawn his brother Yusuf's NOC for participation in a Hong Kong T20 tournament two years ago.</p>

<p>Last week, Yuvraj had said that he was looking forward to play in foreign T20 leagues.</p>
