Yuvraj Singh allegedly made a casteist remark on Chahal which has irked the Twitterati with hashtag #YuvrajSinghMaafiMango (Apologize Yuvraj Singh in Hindi) heavily trending on the micro-blogging platform.
Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh once again finds himself in a controversy as a video clip of his Instagram live conversation with Rohit Sharma went viral on social media. Both Rohit and Yuvraj were, in friendly humour, discussing Yuzvendra Chahal’s social media videos and during the conversation, the former India all-rounder allegedly made a casteist remark on Chahal which has irked the Twitterati with hashtag #YuvrajSinghMaafiMango (Apologize Yuvraj Singh in Hindi) heavily trending on the micro-blogging platform.
While talking about Chahal’s obsession with online videos and social media, Yuvraj casually made a casteist slur and the clip has gone viral with the netizens getting offended by the remark and his choice of words.
Whereas, some thought what Yuvraj said should be taken lightly as it was said in a friendly banter:

Yuvraj Singh's thinking is very poor. It has used very derogatory words. How long will Dalits have to face such mental oppression.#जय_भीम#युवराज_सिंह_शर्म_करो#युवराज_सिंह_माफी_मांगो#युवराज_सिंह_माफी_मांगो pic.twitter.com/LPaSlDsraO— Mahendra Barola (@mahendra_barola) June 2, 2020
Strict measures should be taken against all who use casteist slurs including the recent case of Yuvraj. Demeaning the Valmiki Samaj through derogatory use of "bhangi" is yet another instance showing how blind do people remain with their caste privilege. #युवराज_सिंह_माफी_मांगो— Damni Kain (@DamniKain) June 2, 2020
Many people oppose racism in America, but support casteism in India. In America, they want American people to treat Indians well. But in the country, they do not treat Dalits and backwards well.#युवराज_सिंह_माफी_मांगो @YUVSTRONG12 @BhimArmyChief @BCCI @ICC— mrsumit (@Sumit79541314) June 2, 2020

You are the inspiration for millions and the best hitter of the ball till the present times.but this kind of thing coming from you is really heart broken so please apologize before it's get too late.
Earlier, Yuvraj along with veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh was targeted on social media for their support to former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi’s foundation to battle the dreaded COVID-19. However, both the Indian icons cut their ties with Afridi after a video of the former Pakistan captain went viral where he was seen making controversial remarks on Kashmir and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj has been pretty active on social media during the lockdown and has, on a regular basis, posted videos while spreading awareness surrounding COVID-19. He has also helped thousands with his foundation YuWeCan during the crisis. Recently, he has been seen engaging in challenge trends with fellow former and active cricketers.
