Producer Guneet Monga and director Kartiki Gonsalves brought glory to India on March 12 as they picked up Best Documentary Short Oscar. Even though their win was historic, most fans noticed how Monga's winning speech on the stage was abruptly cut off by music. Now a user on Tik Tok has pointed out how the Academy did not show any such time stamp for the speech when a British man won an Oscar a few seconds after Monga.

Fans would recall that when The Elephant Whisperers won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short, both Kartiki and Guneet took the stage to accept the award. Kartiki, who directed the film, took to the mic first and as TikTok user @Iam7even pointed out, took 43 seconds to deliver her speech. Kartiki said, "I stand here today to speak for the sacred bond between us and our natural world, for the respect of indigenous communities, and empathy towards other living beings we share space with and finally, for coexistence. Thank you to the Academy for recognising our film, highlighting indigenous people and animals.”

Then when Guneet was about to speak, the music was played indicating for them to get off the stage. Monga ultimately had to walk out without delivering her speech.

TikTok user @iam7evn pointed out that although Guneet's speech was cut short due to the 45-second acceptance speech rule that the Acaddemy follows- similar treatment was not meted out to the next set of winners.

The viral video shows the next winners walking up the stage and getting to speak on stage without getting cut off by music. Charles Mackesy and Matthew Freud won Best Animated Short Oscar for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. Their speech extended more than 45 seconds.

The TikTok user then goes on to share Monga's speech which talked of the historic win by two Indian women. Monga eventually spoke backstage to the press and said, "Tonight is historic! This is the first Oscar for any Indian production and two women here won this... I just want to say to everyone watching, the future is audacious and the future is us and the future is here.”

Cristiano Ronaldo remained goalless for the third time in a row for Al-Nassr in the Riyadh-based club's 3-1 win over Abha as they qualified for the semi-finals of the King Cup of Champions. The home side started on the front foot from the word go and dominated proceedings to enter the knockouts. However, Ronaldo didn't have a pleasant outing as he remained goalless and also made heads turn for all the wrong reasons.

Ronaldo engaged in a war of words with the referee on several occasions during the game.
Gone are the days of 'basic' AI abilities, like writing love letters, poems, and emails, or cracking a joke. ChatGPT's newly introduced advanced ability can turn text into video. The feature which will be launching next week will allow for the possibility of text-to-video generation. The new ability will be launched as part of GPT-4, a new "more powerful and versatile" update of GPT 3.5, which as per tech website Stuff is ChatGPT's large language model. The update was announced by Andreas Braun, Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft Germany, at the 'AI in Focus — Digital Kickoff' held on March 4. Microsoft is the largest investor in OpenAI, the company behind the popular Chatbot.

As per reports, the model is expected to be multimodal, i.e., it will include capabilities beyond just text, and will include images and videos.

The definition of ‘utopia’ is different for different people. When you're rich you don't need to look for it, you can just make your own utopia. This is what billionaire Elon Musk is doing. As per reports, the Twitter, and Tesla CEO, is planning to set up his own town just outside of Austin, Texas. A Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report citing land records and deeds reveals that it will be located along the Colorado River.

What will Elon Musk do with a whole town?

The report claims that this new town will serve as housing for Austin-area employees of Musk's companies: Tesla, SpaceX and The Boring Company.

Watch | What explains the sky-high valuation of Tesla and brand Elon Musk?

What will the town be called?

Reportedly, the town will not be called 'Elonland', 'Muskville' or even be named after the billionaire. Rather, it will be named 'Snailbrook' after The Boring Company's mascot — Gary the Snail.

Streets in the town will have names like 'Boring Boulevard', 'Waterjet Way' and 'Cutterhead Crossing'. These names have reportedly been approved by Bastrop County officials in county meetings.

Where will it be located?

Snailbrook as per the WSJ report will be situated around 35 miles from Austin, in Bastrop County.

Executives at the Boring Co. have reportedly discussed and researched, incorporating the town there. However, so far, the county hasn't received any applications from them.

Over the last four years, Elon Musk's companies have purchased 3,500 acres in the Austin area. This is equal to land four times the size of New York's massive Central Park. This figure is based on county deeds and other land records.

Citing local real-estate and land officials, WSJ says that the size of the land the Twitter CEO owns might actually be more — as much as 6,000 acres.

Why would Musk's employees leave their houses and move there?

The housing in Snailbrook will be available to Elon Musk's employees at reduced rents.

Starting last year, Boring employees could apply for cheaper homes with rents starting from just $800 a month for two or three-bedroom houses. This is around three times cheaper than the current market rate.

Currently, the average rent in Bastrop, Texas, as per real-estate listing company Zillow Group Inc stands at around $2,200 a month.

What about the employees' families?

They will, of course, be permitted to reside in Snailbrook. As per the WSJ report, the Boring Company even plans to convert a home on the property into a Montessori school for as many as 15 students.

What do we know about its design?

Given the businessman's flair for innovation, it for sure won't be just some boring town. Work at the site has already begun, and it will house modular homes, a pool and an outdoor sports area so the employees can stay fit.

Reportedly, Musk, his former girlfriend Grimes and Kanye West a.k.a Ye last year had several discussions over what the town might look like.

So, when do they move in?

Most probably as soon as the construction is done.

The billionaire may even have plans to have the town incorporated. But, before Musk can apply for incorporation or charter from the state, Snailbrook will need at least 201 residents and a county judge's approval.

Bastrop County, as per its spokesperson, is yet to receive an application from Musk or any of his entities.

Once Snailbrook gets incorporated, it will legally be allowed to have its own elected officials, and make its own rules.

Why did Elon Musk choose Texas?

Before Texas, California was Musk's home. However, the billionaire left his longtime home some two years back. His companies, Tesla and The Boring Company, also had their headquarters moved from California to Texas.

This, as per a 2021 statement by the Tesla CEO, is because California is the land of "overregulation, overlitigation, overtaxation".

Will the billionaire live in Snailbrook?

Yes, the report citing 'people familiar with the plans' claims that the plans for Snailbrook include a project to build a private residential compound for Musk.

However, this private compound won't be located within the rest of the employee housing. It'll be at some distance from the planned town.

Texas, as per WSJ, has "fewer zoning laws and environmental and labour requirements, and has vast swaths of loosely regulated land". Additionally, Texas does not impose corporate income tax or income or capital gains taxes on individuals.

Even as the plans and construction for Snailbrook town progress at breakneck speed, residents of the area aren't too happy. David Barrow, who runs a farm in Bastrop, is worried the new projects could threaten the Colorado River's water quality.

His worries may be justified. Recently, the Boring Company applied for a permit from Texas state environmental authorities. This permit seeks to discharge up to 140,000 gallons of industrial wastewater a day into the Colorado River.

"I would like to know what is actually being sprayed, what they’re actually building, and who is going to hold them accountable," says the farmer.

Adena Lewis, the county’s director of tourism and economic development, however, says she has no concerns that the company's development could harm the river or surrounding farmland. Despite this, after being approached by the county's farmers, State Senator Sarah Eckhardt requested a public environmental hearing.

"We’re going to need to have more of a conversation and be able to verify the assertions that these companies are making with regard to the discharge permit into the Colorado River," she said. The hearing is scheduled for this month.

Also read | An affordable Tesla? No details revealed by Elon Musk on investors’ day Why did Elon Musk choose Texas? (With inputs from agencies) WATCH WION LIVE HERE You can now write for wionews.com and be a part of the community.
Lionel Messi is a legend of the game. The Argentine skipper's trophy cabinet eluded a FIFA World Cup title before his dream came true in the showpiece event in Qatar. In the Qatar World Cup, Argentina had a disastrous start losing to Saudi Arabia in their opening clash before being unbeaten from thereon to life the title, beating France in an epic finale. Thus, the seven-time Ballon d'or award winner Messi's cabinet now comprises both the Copa America and FIFA World Cup trophy along with plethora of domestic trophies.

Messi's rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo has been talked about for quite some time. However, he also enjoys a healthy competition with Frenchman Kylian Mbappe. In the Argentina vs France FIFA WC final, in Qatar, while Messi-led side walked away with the title, Mbappe won hearts with his performance; scoring a treble. Messi also scored twice but youngster Mbappe ended with a three strikes. Thus, the two Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) teammates share a good relation off the field and also a healthy rivalry on the ground.

Imagine diving into the water, swimming with fishes, mesmerised by the wonders that lie beneath the surface of the ocean. Now, imagine coming back to the surface only to discover you've been stranded in the middle of nowhere. That is what happened to a California couple. Newly-weds Alexander Burckle and Elizabeth Webster were on a snorkelling trip in Hawaii when they were left marooned by their tour company and had to swim half a mile to safety. Now, for the ordeal and the resulting mental distress, they have sued the tour firm, Maui Sail Company. They are seeking $5 million in compensation on account of general damages and emotional distress. The couple were on their honeymoon and had booked the trip to Lanai, a tiny island near Maui, in September 2021. Abandoned while snorkelling in Hawaii, couple sues tour company for $5 million

Uttar Pradesh Warriorz (UPW) took on Gujarat Giants (GG) in the third game of the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 edition on Sunday evening (March 05), at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. Batting first, the Sneh Rana-led side made a challenging 169 for 6 and reduced the opposition to 105 for 7. However, Grace Harris and Sophie Ecclestone's stunning 70-run unbeaten eighth-wicket stand propelled their side to a memorable three-wicket win to open their campaign in style.

The equation was 53 required off the last 18 deliveries for Ecclestone-Harris before the pair's onslaught stunned GG as they lost their second game in a row, on successive days. The momentum changed with the 18th over, where Ecclestone-Harris took on Kim Garth -- who returned with a stunning 5 for 36 -- and churned out 20 runs. While Garth couldn't end her spell on a high, she ran through UPW's top order and removed Alyssa Healy, Shweta Sehrawat, Kiran Navgire, Tahila McGrath and Simran Shaikh. Her first three scalps came in the third over whereas she accounted for her last two wickets in the 13th over. Here's a video of Garth's three strikes in the third over:

Heart disease is often considered an old man's disease, but a recent uptick in the number of young people dying of heart attacks has busted this myth. From a 22-year-old groom who died in the middle of his wedding ceremony to the 16-year-old who died while playing cricket, the headlines these days are unfortunately scattered with mentions of cardiac attacks. It can happen to any person, whatever their age. So, is there anything we can do to identify if we are at risk? According to a cardiologist at a leading New York city cardiology hospital, there are five unexpected signs that you or someone you know may be at risk of developing heart disease.

Writing for Daily Mail, Dr Deepak Bhatt, a cardiologist at New York's Mount Sinai hospital, says that the signs are generally subtle. He asserts that common problems like anxiety, fatigue and limb pain could actually be a sign of something much more serious.

Watch | WION Fineprint: Are you at risk of a heart attack?

Let's take a look at the signs you need to be wary of:

Anxiety

These days, given the schedule and lifestyle we keep, almost everyone feels anxious. However, as per Bhatt, this could point to underlying heart problems.

As per him, anxiety and heart disease generally come hand in hand, constant uneasiness can damage the heart over time.

"It's hard to know which came first. It's a chicken or egg situation," he says.

A 2015 study by Harvard University researchers found that anxiety increases the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) turning fatal by 21 per cent.

Sweating

Think profuse, excess sweating. This can be due to your heart working overtime to pump blood through blocked passageways. The cardiologist warns that sudden profuse sweating, "especially when a person is not taking part in any physical activity, could be one of the first signs of a heart attack."

Leg pain

Many of us might consider this a side-effect of getting older, but even this could be an unexpected signal for heart disease.

Tingling and pain in the legs are actually major symptoms. It happens due to Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). As per Daily Mail, this condition happens when "arteries in the legs become narrow and blocked by the build-up of plaque".

Bhatt says that "even doctors don't think about it."

"If a person suffers pain, numbness or tingling in the legs while walking, and then it suddenly stops when they take a moment of rest, it could be time to go to the doctor," he adds.

Fatigue

Getting tired at the end of the day is normal, but chronic fatigue isn't.

"Fatigue is a tough one," says Bhatt, "it's a very non-specific symptom. Most fatigue is not due to heart disease, maybe just a bad night's sleep."

However, if you are suffering from chronic, constant fatigue, it might be time to see a doctor.

Stomach problems

People suffering from heart disease often report stomach and digestion issues, which get worse as the cardiovascular condition worsens.

Sudden and sharp pain, usually in the upper right portion of a person's stomach, could point to heart disease. This often comes with sudden, significant weight loss.

While these signs may be innocuous for the majority of people, if they are accompanied by giveaway symptoms like chest tightening or are happening to a person with a history of heart disease, seeking medical help is the right way to go.

It happens due to Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). As per Daily Mail, this condition happens when "arteries in the legs become narrow and blocked by the build-up of plaque". "If a person suffers pain, numbness or tingling in the legs while walking, and then it suddenly stops when they take a moment of rest, it could be time to go to the doctor," he adds. Fatigue Getting tired at the end of the day is normal, but chronic fatigue isn't. "Fatigue is a tough one," says Bhatt, "it's a very non-specific symptom. Most fatigue is not due to heart disease, maybe just a bad night's sleep." However, if you are suffering from chronic, constant fatigue, it might be time to see a doctor. While these signs may be innocuous for the majority of people, if they are accompanied by giveaway symptoms like chest tightening or are happening to a person with a history of heart disease, seeking medical help is the right way to go.
