#AskSrk: Shah Rukh Khan explains the meaning of the title Dunki

Shah Rukh Khan is back doing what he does best. After delivering two blockbusters earlier this year where we saw the actor in an action avatar, SRK now serenades Taapsee Pannu in the new song Lutt Putt Gaya from Dunki. The makers unveiled Dunki Drop 2 which has Khan wooing Pannu's character.

The song opens up the chapter of Hardy when he falls for Manu as she stands up for him against the world. Watch him as his feelings for Manu transform him into a hopeless romantic.

This melodic treat, composed by Pritam, features the soulful vocals of Arijit Singh and lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire and IP Singh. The delightful dance moves, choreographed by the renowned Ganesh Acharya, add an extra layer of magic, setting the perfect stage for the romance to unfold onscreen.

Dunki marks the first collaboration between director Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan.

The second picture showed David posing with Sonam and Anand at their home. He wrote further, ''@sonamkapoor and @anandahuja - you hosted me with such warmth and kindness this week, thank you for the amazing evening you created at your home - see you again soon ❤️🇮🇳.''

Soon after the post was shared, Sonam commented, ''You’re extremely gracious and a thorough gentleman. ❤️.''

Sonam's party was a star-studded night and many A-listers like Sonam's father and actor Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Farhan Akhtar, Karisma Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and others, were in attendance. However, Shah Rukh's get-together was an intimate affair.

The ceremony, scheduled during the upcoming MAMI film festival, promises to be a celebration of Richa Chadha's remarkable journey, highlighting her significant impact on the global stage. Reacting to the honour, Richa said, “It is truly an overwhelming and humbling moment for me to be recognized by the French government and the Counsel General of France to India with the prestigious 'Chevalier Des Arts et des Lettres' award. To stand in the esteemed company of legends such as Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a testament to the power of storytelling and the impact cinema can have on bridging cultures and societies. My journey in the film industry has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride, filled with challenges, triumphs, and invaluable lessons. Receiving this honor is not just a personal achievement; it is a recognition of the collective efforts of everyone who believed in my vision, from my family and friends to my mentors and collaborators. This accolade reaffirms my belief that storytelling knows no boundaries, and it is my responsibility as an artist to contribute meaningfully to the global dialogue. Thank you to the French government and the Counsel General of France to India for this honor, which only motivates me to strive for excellence and make a positive impact on the world through my work." After SRK and Aishwarya Rai, Richa Chadha to receive prestigious award from French government

Every Karan Johar film has featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol - be it as the lead or in a cameo but the tradition was broken in Johar's recent release Rocky Aur Ranii Ki Prem Kahaani. Johar has now revealed that his team did suggest him to cast the two actors in his latest directorial but Karan confessed he didn't have the courage to approach SRK or Kajol.

While speaking to Pinkvilla, Johar said, "The entire AD team would say that the best moment in Tum Kya Mile should be… you track away from Alia (Bhatt) and Ranveer (Singh) and you see Shah Rukh and Kajol. You look at them and Alia realises this is pure love because they represent love. And I was like, with what kind of guts do I have, to go and ask Shah Rukh to not only do the cameo, but also come to Kashmir, to get into costume."

The director admitted that had he approached SRK, he would not have said no. “Shah Rukh never says no to me. I have to pick and choose what to ask. Like I remember when we went as a team to play that massive, impactful cameo in Brahmastra, at the end of the day, he looked at us and said, ‘This is Karan. I can’t say no.' I know that I can't take that empowered feeling for granted. I can't keep going back,” Karan said in the same interview.

Shah Rukh and Kajol first worked with Karan when he was an Assistant Director on Aditya Chopra's 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. They starred in his 1998 directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and followed it up with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001 and My Name Is Khan in 2010. The two have appeared in cameo roles in various Karan Johar productions over the years.

Besides the lead roles, Kajol had a cameo in Karan's 2006 romantic film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which had Shah Rukh in the lead, and his 2012 campus caper Student of the Year, which was co-produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment. SRK also had a cameo in Karan directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Karan Johar's debut feature film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji in the lead, is completing 25 years. To mark the special occasion, the film is being re-released in theatres in India. The global blockbuster captured the imagination of both the masses as well as the critics and remains an iconic film to date. The movie proved to be a trendsetter of the ’90s. From cementing the trend of gifting friendship bands on Friendship Day to Shah Rukh Khan's ‘cool’ pendant and Kajol’s bob-cut, the film set the pace for many new trends. Released on October 16, 1998, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai will now celebrate its 25th anniversary next Monday. Dharma Productions, along with PVR and INOX cinemas, are holding a special screening for the fans on Sunday, October 15, at PVR ICON, Mumbai on October 15. Karan Johar-owned production house took to its social media channels and made the announcement on Wednesday, October 11, as it wrote, "Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai aur #KuchKuchHotaHai special screening ka mauka bhi ek hi baar milta hai! At PVR INOX (Mumbai) on 15th October - time to relive the magic!". Reacting to the post, several fans outside of Mumbai asked for shows in their cities. "Need more shows, not fair it's already full," another wrote, "Why not re-release it in all of India??". "Unfair Karan....Re-release it in all parts of India, especially Kerala", wrote a Shah Rukh Khan fan from Kerala. The film had Salman Khan in a cameo role and also featured Archana Puran Singh, Anupam Kher, Sana Saeed, Farida Jalal, Reema Lagoo and Johnny Lever in key roles.
No, the release of Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki is not being pushed to a later date. Several reports had claimed that Dunki was getting postponed due to the delay in the post-production of the film. But now a report in Pinkvilla has stated that makers have squashed reports that claim that there would be a delay in the film's release. Dunki will be releasing on Christmas 2023 - the same day as Prabhas' Salaar-Part 1: Ceasefire hits the theatres
About Dunki

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki stars Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead. This will be SRK's first film with Hirani and Pannu. A few weeks back Khan himself had confirmed that Dunki would be releasing according to the scheduled date during a chat with his fans on X.

Dunki will be Khan's third release of 2023. The actor started the year with a bang as Pathaan created box office records. His last release Jawaan smashed Pathaan's box office records and became the highest-earning Hindi film ever. Expectations, therefore, are high from Dunki.

While the film's plot is not known yet, it is speculated that Dunki is a film based on immigrants, primarily Indians, who take risky and illegal routes to cross international borders for countries like the USA.
Salaar release date announcement

Last month, the makers of the upcoming action thriller film Salaar announced that the film will hit theatres on December 22. On Instagram, production house Hombale Films shared a new poster of Salaar which they captioned, “Coming bloody soon! #SalaarCeaseFire Worldwide Release On Dec 22, 2023.” Helmed by Prashant Neel, the film also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumarn in the lead roles.

The Maharashtra government has scaled up Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's security cover following threats received by the actor. News reports state that Mumbai police have confirmed that the actor's security has been scaled up, although the nature of the 'threat' that the actor is facing has not been made clear.

The Maharashtra State Intelligence Department (SID) has reportedly informed all the police commissioners, district police and special protection units (SPUs) in the state to provide “Y+ with an escort scale of security to Khan with immediate effect”.

The decision was taken after a recent high-power committee meeting in which threats and security to the actor were reviewed, they said.

Under the Y+ category, Khan will be given 11 security personnel, including six commandos, four police personnel and a traffic clearance vehicle. The policemen would be posted at his bungalow Mannat.

Certain Hindu right-wing groups had raised objections to the song and Deepika Padukone's outfits in the song. Paramhans Acharya, an Ayodhya-based seer, had allegedly issued death threats to the actor.
Then in August this year, security was stepped up outside the actor’s bungalow following protests against celebrities endorsing online gaming apps, stressing that such endorsements misguide and corrupt the younger generation.

One month of Jawan: A look back at Shah Rukh Khan's film blockbuster success

Indian doctor Kafeel Khan has penned a letter of gratitude and appreciation to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for his latest film Jawan. Khan feels that a plot point in Atlee directed film was loosely based on his life. In the film, Sanya Malhotra plays a doctor who is falsely implicated in the death of several kids at a government hospital that lacked basic facilities. The film shows that Sanya's character is arrested even though the real culprit is the health minister and a corrupt system. The plot was similar to real real-life incident involving Dr Khan.

Dr Kafeel Khan was accused of negligence when 63 children died of Acute Encephalitis at a state-run hospital in Gorakhpur in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh back in 2017. Dr Khan was arrested for charges of negligence. After years of court battle, he was freed.

Dr Kafeel Khan's letter

In his letter addressed to 'honourable actor and film producer Shah Rukh Khan', Dr Khan wrote that he watched Jawan and "felt compelled to convey my deep appreciation for your extraordinary commitment to using cinema as a means to address critical socio-political issues."

He added, "the movie's poignant portrayal of the tragic Gorakhpur Encephalitis incident has left an indelible mark on my heart. As someone who has had a personal connection with the incident and its aftermath, I was profoundly moved by your decision to bring this story to the screen.

"While I understand that Jawan is a work of fiction, the parallels it draws to the Gorakhpur tragedy serve as a powerful reminder of the systemic failures, apathy, and, most importantly, the innocent lives lost.

"It underscores the urgent need for accountability within our healthcare system. The character portrayed by @sanyamalhotra07 (as Dr Eeram Khan ) although not directly referencing me, encapsulated the experiences I faced.

"It was heartening to witness the real culprit of ‘The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy’ got caught , though sadly in real life the real culprits are roaming free, me still struggling to get my job back, and those 63 parents who lost their little ones still waiting for justice."

He also talked about his own book The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy, which provides ‘a first-hand account of the tragedy and its aftermath’.

Dr Khan also said that if given an opportunity, he would be honoured to meet Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee and express his gratitude personally.

"I also want to assure you that my sanctification, devotion, and determination towards serving my countrymen would continue undeterred. Thank you once again for being a beacon of hope. I look forward to your kind reply," he concluded.

Dr Khan reportedly sent a handwritten letter to SRK but it was undelivered. Dr Khan then decided to put to share images of the letter on social media.

Dr Kafeel Khan's letter In his letter addressed to 'honourable actor and film producer Shah Rukh Khan', Dr Khan wrote that he watched Jawan and "felt compelled to convey my deep appreciation for your extraordinary commitment to using cinema as a means to address critical socio-political issues." He added, "the movie's poignant portrayal of the tragic Gorakhpur Encephalitis incident has left an indelible mark on my heart. "It was heartening to witness the real culprit of ‘The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy’ got caught , though sadly in real life the real culprits are roaming free, me still struggling to get my job back, and those 63 parents who lost their little ones still waiting for justice." He also talked about his own book The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy, which provides ‘a first-hand account of the tragedy and its aftermath’. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to obtain your email address, @iamsrk sir . Consequently, I sent the letter by post, but that also showing in transit even after many days .Therefore posting it here 🙏🏾 To The Honourable Mr. Shah Rukh Khan Indian actor and film producer Mannat,… pic.twitter.com/9OxtzHQJ5M — Dr Kafeel Khan (@drkafeelkhan) October 5, 2023 × “Unfortunately, I wasn't able to obtain your email address, @iamsrk sir.
After a long wait, our first official look at Tiger 3 is here. It is the third instalment in India's Tiger film series, which began with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 and was followed by Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017. A teaser titled 'Tiger Ka Message' has Salman Khan's Avinash Singh Rathore or Tiger, the daredevil RAW agent, addressing his countrymen through a laptop-like device. The central theme of the film seems to revolve around trust and loyalty, with Tiger, a seasoned RAW agent, feeling betrayed and falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit.

As the teaser begins, Tiger, holed up in what seems like a warzone, says he spent two decades serving his country and did not ask anything in return, but is asking now. We hear Indians in public places listening to or watching news reports saying Rathore was caught red-handed in an undisclosed crime. "Today, you will be told Tiger is your enemy. Tiger is a traitor. Tiger is enemy No. 1. So after 20 years of service, I am asking India for a character certificate. Indian will tell my son, not me, what was his father: traitor or patriot," says Tiger.

As he hears gunshots in the background, he bookends his recording by saying, "If I'm still alive, I'll be at your service again. Or else... Jai Hind." You can watch the teaser above.

The teaser for Tiger 3 has certainly left fans intrigued and eager for more. It sets the stage for what appears to be a gripping and action-packed storyline. With the promise of high-octane action sequences and a complex, suspenseful plot, Tiger 3 seems poised to deliver another thrilling instalment in the Tiger franchise, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until its release.

We know that YRF Spy Universe exists, with War and Pathaan franchises also in the mix. So expect to see Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan jumping in the middle of the action to assist Tiger.
