Babar Azam-led Pakistan slammed India by 10 wickets in match 4 of the Super 12 round in the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, being held in the UAE. Opting to bowl first, Pakistan rode on Shaheen Afridi's 3 for 31 as they restricted Virat Kohli-led India for 151-7 in 20 overs. In reply, the Men in Green chased down the score with 10 wickets and 13 balls to spare, riding on unbeaten half-centuries from Mohammed Rizwan and Babar.

Pakistan's top performers from their historic win against India in T20 World Cup 2021

Pakistan defeated Virat Kohli-led team India as captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan hit half-centuries to inspire their side for a stunning win in a World Cup showdown for the first time ever with a 10-wicket romp in a Super 12 blockbuster at the Twenty20 World Cup on Sunday. The loss was also India's first 10-wicket defeat in T20 cricket.

Babar (68) and Rizwan (79) helped Pakistan to take apart India's bowlers as they reached their target with 13 balls to spare in Dubai while chasing 152 for victory.
During an exclusive chat with WION's Digvijay Singh Deo, the two-time World Cup-winning coach John Buchanan opened up on India vs Pakistan clash. He said, "It's going to hurt, that's for sure. It's hammering. That's just a real comprehensive loss against a fantastic Pakistan."

"However, your first game in the tournament is always a little bit tricky. You are just not quite settled as a team, you are just not sure about a range of things. It's always nice to get the first game underway and ideally get away with a win but in this case, India haven't"

"I don't think there will be of long-term concern for India, I think it reflects on a range of this 'can I change the bowling line-up' also the batting. But I think there won't be too many changes on India's side. T20 World Cup: Exclusive! How India can bounce back? John Buchanan's take on Indo-Pak match

Virat Kohli-led Team India endured a shambolic ten-wicket defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday (October 24). Pakistan restricted India on a low-key total of 151 runs and chased down the target with 13 balls to spare to get off to a winning start in the tournament and bring an end to their winless streak against the Men in Blue in World Cup matches.

Pakistan claimed their maiden win against India in a World Cup match in a total of 13 meetings between the two sides so far. Pakistan had lost seven out of seven games in ODI World Cup and five out of five games in T20 World Cup against India before Sunday.

However, he went wicket-less on Sunday as Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan made a mockery of the Indian bowling attack during their side's run-chase in Dubai. Talking about the spell from Chakravarthy, Butt said every kid in Pakistan plays such bowling in street cricket.

Pakistan thrashed India by 10 wickets in match 4 of the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup 2021, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Sunday evening (October 24). Both sides met each other after a gap of two years, across formats, following their face-off in the 2019 ODI World Cup. In the run-up to the blockbuster face-off, India had a staggering 12-0 lead over Pakistan in World Cup history (both in ODIs and T20Is). However, Babar & Co. produced a clinical performance in all departments to stun Virat Kohli-led Team India to start their T20 WC 2021 edition with a bang. Following Men in Green's impressive win, Pakistan's internet sensation -- whose video went viral after his side lost to India in the 2019 ODI WC -- has once again shared another video reacting to his national side's stunning performance versus the 2007 winners. 'Can't be forgotten': Pakistan pacer elated after meeting his dream player MS Dhoni during T20 WC 2021

Babar Azam-led Pakistan scripted history as they finally managed to beat arch-rivals India in a World Cup game after a long wait of several decades. Pakistan hammered India by ten wickets in their opening encounter of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on Sunday (October 24) to bring an end to India's flawless winning streak against the Men in Green in World Cup matches.

India had never lost a World Cup game against Pakistan before Sunday, with seven wins in seven matches in ODI World Cup and five wins in five games in T20 World Cup. However, the magnificent streak was halted by Babar & Co. in Dubai, where Pakistan have now won their last seven T20I matches in a row.

While fans in Pakistan took to the street in jubilation to celebrate their country's first win against India in a World Cup match, firecrackers were allegedly burst also in parts of India. Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to allege firecrackers were burst in 'parts of India' after the team's loss against Pakistan on Sunday.

Team India were hammered by Babar Azam-led Pakistan, by ten wickets, in match 4 of the Super 12 round in the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, in the UAE on Sunday evening (October 24). The match took place at the iconic Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai where plenty of Indian and Pakistani supporters came in large numbers to witness the marquee encounter.

Opting to bowl first, Babar & Co. rode on Shaheen Afridi's 3 for 31 as Pakistan restricted the daunting Indian batting line-up to 151/7 in 20 overs. None apart from Captain Kohli (57) stood tall with the bat as India managed a decent yet below-par score. From Pakistan's perspective, Shaheen, Haris Rauf (1 for 25) and Hasan Ali's two-fer led the charge for the one-time winners.

We needed those 15-20 extra runs an for that we needed a good start but Pakistan's bowling didn't allow us to get those extra runs.
The T20 World Cup 2021's Super 12 round commenced on Saturday (October 23).
Day 2 in the Super 12 will see two matches. However, the second game will have all the attention as India will be taking on Pakistan in both sides' respective tournament-openers, at the iconic Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Sunday evening.
Both sides have a solid line-up, comprising several big-ticket players. For India, they have problems of plenty as Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue have too many options for the top and middle-lower order whereas the bowling line-up also have too many superstars to look forward to. Here's predicting India's XI for the Pakistan clash:

It goes without saying that India's top-order will comprise KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Kohli. The Big Three will be expected to go bonkers from the word go. For the unversed, Rohit has back-to-back tons in the last two Indo-Pak face-offs.

The middle and lower-order is very likely to comprise Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. With this, India will also have two bowling options in Jadeja and Hardik (if he bowls).

The bowling line-up's final selection can be a headache for the Indian team management. However, they are expected to go ahead with Varun Chakravarthy (over R Ashwin who hasn't played a limited-overs game since 2017), Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Ashwin is also an experienced campaigner and did well in the warm-up encounters (claiming two scalps vs Australia) but there is a chance that India might play Charkavarthy to surprise the opposition. Moreover, the conditions on offer will determine whether Bhuvi appears in India's XI. Without a doubt, he is definitely a big-match player but his form hasn't been at its best. If he misses out, Shardul Thakur will be the frontrunner to replace him.

India's likely playing XI vs Pakistan: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Shardul Thakur

On the other hand, Pakistan will also have to choose between Shoaib Malik's experience and Haider Ali.

Pakistan's likely playing XI vs India: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik/Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi

ALSO READ | T20 World Cup: Virat Kohli banks on India's 'A game' against a talented Pakistan team The bowling line-up's final selection can be a headache for the Indian team management. India's likely playing XI vs Pakistan: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Shardul Thakur On the other hand, Pakistan will also have to choose between Shoaib Malik's experience and Haider Ali. Pakistan's likely playing XI vs India: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik/Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi

T20 WC: Chakravarthy, Jadeja as two spinners? Predicting Virat Kohli-led India's playing XI vs Pakistan

On Sunday (October 24), India finally locked horns with Pakistan for the first time, across formats, after two years in what was both sides' tournament-opener in the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup 2021, being held in the UAE.

With India leading Pakistan 12-0 in head-to-head tally in World Cups (both ODIs and T20Is), the Men in Blue were expected to move past Babar Azam-led Pakistan in match 4 of Super 12, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. However, Virat Kohli & Co. lost to Men in Green by a whopping 10-wicket margin to concede their first-ever game to their arch-rivals in WC history.

Thus, Kohli achieved the unwanted record to become India's first-ever captain to lose a match to Pakistan in World Cup history. However, this isn't the first time India have lost to Pakistan in an ICC event, with the trio of Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni and Kohli having lost a game each as captains in the Champions Trophy (2004, 2009 and 2017 respectively).

After the match, Kohli reflected on the loss and told at the post-match presentation, "We didn't execute properly. Credit where it's due and Pakistan outplayed us today. They started brilliantly with the ball, and 3 wickets for 20 runs was not a good start. We needed wickets early but with the bat they gave us absolutely no chances. It played slow in the first half and hitting through the line was not that easy as it was in the second half, after 10 overs. We needed those 15-20 extra runs an for that we needed a good start but Pakistan's bowling didn't allow us to get those extra runs. We could make the argument of getting in another slower bowler, but it's important to stay composed and understand our strengths, because with the dew the slower bowlers couldn't be effective either. This is just the first game of the tournament, not the last."

Opting to bowl first, Pakistan were led by Shaheen Afridi's early strikes (3 for 31) as India lost both their openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul for cheap. While Kohli stood tall (57) and held one end, the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant got starts before departing.

Some lusty shots took the one-time winners India to a competitive 151-7. Nonetheless, Pakistan ended the chase witbout giving a single chance to the opposition, courtesy Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam's respective half-centuries.

This became Pakistan's first-ever ten-wicket win in the format and India's first-ever defeat by the same margin in T20Is.

He also took Virat Kohli's wicket in the 19th over but gave away 19 runs. Will those 19 runs prove decisive? Virat Kohli's led from the front with a vital half-century as India recovered from a disastrous start to post a challenging 151 for seven. The plan was pick early wickets and then come back in the death and pick wickets again." "I worked hard on my swing yesterday in the nets. It becomes easy for batsmen if it doesn't. I didn't mind going for runs in order to pick up wickets. [On the chase] The new ball will be difficult but the ball is coming onto the bat nicely.
