
India faced 637 balls without hitting a single six in the One Day International series. In recently concluded series against England, only two players managed to hit at least one six for India. In the first match, Rohit Sharma slammed four sixes but the Virat Kohli's sidefailed to hit a single six in the second ODI that they lost by a comprehensive 86-run margin. In the third and final match, Pacer Shardul Thakur slammed two sixes in the death overs but India lost the match by 8 wickets.
India's batting line-up shattered in the third ODI as the team was restricted to an easily chasable target of 257 runs. England bowlers Adil Rashid and David Willey grabbed three wickets each.
India got off to a cautious start, reaching 32-1 from 10 overs, after England won the toss. But Virat Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan then increased the scoring rate as India took 68 from the next 10 overs.
Dhawan was run out for 44 by a brilliant piece of fielding from Ben Stokes and India lost wickets at regular intervals.
Leg-spinner Rashid grabbed the prize scalp of Kohli who fell to a beauty that pitched on leg and clipped the top of off stump, leaving the prolific right-hander wide-eyed in disbelief.

A partnership between Joe Root and captain Eoin Morgan helped England win the match and the series as well.
Joe Root scored a century and became the top run scorer in the series. For his brilliant performance, he was awarded the Player of the Series.
