India’s Manu Bhakerhas entered the final of the women's 25m pistol precision final as the nation bids for another medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics. Manu won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol women's singleson Friday (August 2) and will now compete for another medal on Sunday. If she is successful in clinching a medal on Saturday, it will be India’s fourth medal in shooting at the Paris Games.
With the qualification for the final round of the women's 25m pistol precision final up for grabs, Manu was flawless as she booked their place in the final. Manu scored 294 in the precision stage and 296 in the rapid round. In the three series of precision rounds which involved 10 shots each, Manu Bhaker scored 87, 98, and 99, and added 100, 98, and 98 in three series of rapid stages which also included 10 shots per series.

The Indian shooter will have history on the cards on Saturday as they will bid for the fourth medal with Manu winning two. She could also become the first Indian athlete to ever win three medals at the same Olympics. She has already won two medals in 10m women’s singles and 10m women’s team events.
So far in this Paris Olympics, India has won three medals and all have come from shooting. On Thursday, Swapnil Kusale won a bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 positions. He became the first Indian shooter to win a medal in the 50m Rifle 3 positions. However, the day also saw top Indian shuttlers like Chirag-Satwik, HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu bow out before the medal rounds.
