Jaylen Waddle has singed an extension with the Miami Dolphins. The wide receiver's new contract is worth $84.75 million for the next three years, reported ESPN's Adam Schefter.
With the deal, Waddle is now one of the highest paid WRs in the National Football League (NFL). His average yearly salary of $28.25 million is just behind fellow teammate Tyreek Hill ($30 million).
Waddle will also be getting $76 million in guarantees, making him the third all-time highest paid WR in the history of NFL. Waddle sits behind Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown ($84 million in guarantee) and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions ($77 million) in terms of most guaranteed money.
Waddle, the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has been one of the go to players for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He has recorded 3,385 yards in 251 attempts after catching the ball to go with his 18 touchdowns.
He has recoded 1000-yard seasons in all three of his playing years and has been targeted over 100 times in each of those seasons.
In his rookie year, Waddle recorded 1,015 yards after catching the ball 104 times out of 140 attempts at an average of 9.8 yards per carry to go with six touchdowns.
In his second year of professional football, Waddle recorded his career-best 1,356 yards in 75 catches at an average of 18.1 yards per carry with eight touchdowns.
Last season, Waddle has 1,014 yards to his name in 72 receives at 14.1 yards per carry to go with is four touchdowns.
